How long did everyone wait before trying to get pregnant again? We’d love to try for another but because of my age I know our chances are already limited and obviously they recommend waiting 2 years. Just wondering if anyone has fallen pregnant sooner and how did the pregnancy and birth go?

Im almost 9 months pp, my hubby and I had a pregnancy scare when I was 7 months pp. Although I wasn't pregnant, it made us realise that we were actually ready to try again! I understand the risks but I want my children close in age, I refuse to wait the 12-18 month guideline. From what I researched, getting pregnant before the recommended time just means you get more check ups and have a higher risk of another section. Hopefully soon I fall pregnant!

I got pregnant with my 2nd at 7 months post partum. Had my first in August 2024 and my second in December 2025. They are 15 month apart. I ended up having another csection cause he was weighing pretty large and it was recommended for me. Had more checks up throughout but overall pregnancy was okay.

There is an 18 month age gap between mine. Pregnancy fine, birth not as great as the first, but they insisted on inducing me as I only found out at 17wks I was pregnant, so they “weren’t sure” on my dates, and he got stressed out too much with being induced (lots more but it wasn’t awful and I will still have another child) x

Got pregnant at 20m pp and had a 2.5 year gap between births. It was perfect for us, I had no complications, was low risk, no uterine thinning or scar tissue when opened up the second time. I’m cleared for more babies. For me it was health, so many people who have back to backs end up with issues like bone trouble, prolapse, incontinence, scar tissue issues and those can be life long. The longer you let your body heal the happier it will be for the rest of your life. I’m 16m pp from the second and contemplating another as I’m feeling really good

The only way to be sure is to ask for a check up scan to see how thin your uterine wall is (i think it's this that causes problems).
Many professionals say 2 years wait. Some abroad (presuming your UK) say 18 months to 24 months between c sections. Which in theory means pregnancy with one under 1.
Ultimately it is more risky the less healing that has allowed to pass.

My OB said 18m between deliveries. So we started at 10m (just to work with my work schedule). Fell pregnant around 13m but lost it. Still trying for a second and our son is almost 20m. 😢
