I have been having her latch ok both sides for as long as possible and trying to also pump after breastfeeding but idk it doesn’t seem to be helping me produce more and im just worried im gonna basically starve my baby when we get sent home because i cant produce enough😔

Will the hospital supply you with donor milk to go home with until your milk fully comes in

I was the same way in hospital so I supplemented formula since they cluster feed. But my milk came in by day 4. Also pump for 10-15mins between feeds to stimulate breasts.

Keep hydrated, eat snacks and well balanced meals , keep hand expressions (massaging boobs) and stay encouraged.

You got this mama!

I’m on baby #2 now but my first baby I barely could keep my supply up and I had to use donor milk.

& congrats on baby girl 🎉💗💪🏾

I couldn’t get donor milk for either baby. I under-produced and pumped and also used formula for my first. I seem to be producing an ok amount, somewhat slowing down rn (2 months pp)

It might take a few days for your supply to come in especially with a csection. IV fluids, pitocin, and pain meds can all hinder milk supply. The best thing to is continue to latch and pump. If you do use donor milk or formula for supplementation, try to use an SNS in the meantime. That way baby doesn't get used to the bottle. Also with colostrum babies are super good getting it out vs a pump. So shes getting something.

Your body is going to need really good whole foods to help heal from your csection, birth, and breastfeeding. So make sure you have support with cooking and or getting good meals.

Lastly, see if you can get lactation at the hospital to measure your nipples and make sure your flange size is correct. They usually will just give you a 24mm and most women sre 15mm-21mm. They can also supply you with a SNS. Also ask if they have any recommendations for outpatient lactation consultants in your area. I would call and get an appointment with them and get in to make sure your supply is up and

Baby is getting enough milk. They can help with supply, latch, pumping, etc. If you have other questions feel free to DM.

You’re only 3 days postpartum, your milk likely hasn’t come in yet. The colostrum you’re producing IS enough for baby. A newborn stomach is teeny tiny. No need to supplement, just latch latch latch!
Colostrum is also thick and stickier so it’s harder to pump, but your baby is getting enough

Did anyone else’s epidural not work?

Writing retrospectively here. I had a epidural with my 1st baby in 2025 and it pretty much had no effect, I was in absolute agony the whole time (hours). Anyone else experience this?

Midwife now says this isn’t normal and I shouldn’t have been in pain.
Due my 2nd in 6 weeks and debating weather I should go for one again. 😣

Am I killing my supply?

So my almost 2 month old has started sleeping for 5.5 hours before waking for his first feed of the night. I usually get him to bed around 10 or 11 right after pumping from both sides and bottle feeding. When he wakes up in the night, either 3:30am or 4:30am, he only eats from one boob then he's back to sleep for another 3 hours. I'll still be engorged in both when he wakes btw. So that means that only one of my boobs is getting emptied throughout the whole night. Basically my question is will this kill my supply?? In one boob or both? What about when he starts sleeping through the night do I need to wake myself up to pump once a night to keep my supply? I still feed/pump every 2 hours or so during the day. But I just don't want to kill my supply because I'm doing the night-time feeds wrong.

Help I need milk

I am 5 weeks pp and struggling even producing an oz. I have two other children 10 and 8 that breast fed for yrs and it was never a problem. I have not had an appetite since I gave birth so eating might be an issue. But I’m also very stressed with my relationship. Any tips I appreciate.

Lactation suppression

I do not want to breastfeed (please don't ask me why) i just don't want to. I just found out the NHS no longer prescribe cabergoline and instead recommended cabbage leaves 😞 anyone know how I can get a cabergoline prescription or anything else I may be able to ask for or get to stop lactation. Happy to pay private prices

Breastfeeding

Hi ladies! FTM to a 2 week old boy. Anyone else having issues with getting enough milk to breastfeed? I’ve tried all the teas, all the cookies, power pumping and I feel so guilty and defeated because my baby boy doesn’t do well with formula we just switched him to a Soy formula this morning which he seems to be doing a little better on. I never knew guilt like I’ve felt with this Mom Guilt.. just venting
