We dropped our LO nap and her sleep became worse so have gone back to a short day nap but bedtime is looking around 8:45
Is this normal?
When she doesn’t nap she is asleep by 7 but seems really overtired.
Does anyone have a routine where they nap only at nursery or on certain days??
Dependant on bad night etc ….?
Chat GPT told me to avoid irregular naps but would hear advice from actual mummies xx

We have a 1hr nap between the hours of 11.30 and 2pm. Typically he takes his nap at about 1-2pm! If he takes his nap then, he is asleep by 7.30pm. If he takes the nap any earlier, we move the time back accordingly😄 we actually just had a sleep therapist in and this has helped us massively!
If he doesnt nap at nursery or at home, we bring bedtime forward to 6.15 (no earlier than 6pm) xx
Thank you. This is helpful.
I’m at a total loss with my daughter right now. She is wiped out and overtired with no nap and when she does nap she refuses bed before 8:30-8:45
She rarely sleeps through. I feel like I’ve broken her with trialing the nap vs no nap over the last month

You have not broken her❤️ it's a very difficult age in terms of they are learning and absorbing so much!
What does her wake ups typically look like? And does she sleep in her own bed/co-sleep etc?
I really appreciate you coming back to me. I have no mum friends yet so never know who to ask.
She is usually up at 7. Goes down in her cot and if she wakes she ends up with us. This happened at 4:20 this morning I managed to transfer her back after she fell asleep.
She is in a grumpy mood this morning. She went to bed at 8:45 last night and had a 45 min nap at nursery at 12:30. Woke up at 7:30
Not sure how to play today. Whether to give her a nap or not.
When I’m tired I just don’t know what the answer is 🤔

That's okay, that's the beauty of this app! We were in a vicious cycle where we were all just exhausted so put up with whatever was easiest to get us through.
Took about a solid week of consistency of the sleep specialists advice and it was all good!
If she woke at 7.30, try giving her a nap for 30 minutes 12.30-1 or 1-1.30 ish (or in between) then bedtime 6.30/6.45 and see how that goes.
Rough rule of thumb, 5-5.5hr wake windows for her and see how she gets on🤞🏼, it may not show results today or tomorrow but stay consistent where you can!
Thank you so much! I’ll give the above ago and hope for the best! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Please feel free to message me if it's easier❤️ good luck and you got this xx
You are so kind! Honestly appreciate it so much! I had sleep last night and feel back to myself. Xx

Aww i am so glad ❤️ xx
My 2.5 year old has always been a great sleeper but atm omgggg. Whether she naps or not, no matter the bed time shes wide awake at 3am!!!! Not crying, just babbling away. I try rock her back to sleep & have even give a bottle of milk as wonderes if shes thirsty but are we in a regression? Im shattered 🤯😮💨😭

After making it this far without giving a dummy, I'm finally caving (no judgement or questions please, just personal preference). Over the last month, my girl has started sucking on 2 fingers constantly to soothe herself and she's making them red raw. 2 people have told me recently that they think she cries more than the average baby and that breaks my heart thinking she's unhappy. So hence the decision to give a dummy... but i have a few random questions. Does your baby have access to a dummy all of the time, or just when you want them to start settling down? Do you find you're constantly waking in the night to put it back in before mouth if it falls out? I don't really want her to constantly have it in her mouth, ideally just to help soothe herself for naps and sleep. I understand there's a risk she might not accept a dummy this far along but with how much she loves sucking things, I think she will. I'm also however worried about creating yet another sleep association with it, as I am already pretty guilty of feeding to sleep

For mums who have been through this before, what did you do with your little one’s bedtime & morning wake up routine / timings when the clocks go back in October? I’ve got a 5 month old and looking for advice on how should I mange the change with her.

I am looking for some advice. My baby is 15 weeks old and he does not go down for the night till 12 o'clock.
We are doing night time routine between 7-8 pm depends on his last nap, he goes down for like 30-45 min wakes up crying, we can settle down in minutes but he does not go back to sleep till 11:30-12:00. I am nursing him 1x maybe 2x before he actually goes down. 😅
I tried to postpone the nighttime routine for 9-10 pm and get him down for one more nap; he does the same thing just going to bed at 1 am 🤦🏽♀️
During the day he also does not sleep much. Like 3 hrs in total, but since he born is the same, not sleeping much.
After he finally goes to sleep he has a good 5 hr stretch of sleep which I am very grateful for, but I really want his bedtime to be at 8-ish. Thank you.

The only way my husband can get our 5 day old baby boy to sleep is to have him in arms being rocked or in this swing. He says he and his ex let my SD sleep in her swing for months because she needed the incline for reflux.
Google says baby should not be in the swing for more than an hour a day. But Google also says no cosleeping and I feel like swing or cosleeping might be the only ways to ever sleep.
My husband is wonderful and is taking 8pm-2am and we're barely home and already exhausted. Is this OK?
