Potty training

We have been introducing the potty gradually - when playing at home we have no nappy on and my boy (just turned 2) will always pee and poo in the potty if he has no nappy on. Sometimes asks for it before bed. If he has a nappy on he’ll go in that, then sometimes tell us he has pood, or sometimes denies it when we ask 😂. Doesn’t tell us he’s wet or has weed.

How do we progress to pants? Most of my friends have potty trained a bit later with the 3 day no nappy method. But I dunno how useful that would be given he clearly already has the hang of using the potty when he has no nappy on. Should we go straight to trialling just pants instead of no nappy while he plays at home? Or still do the prolonged no nappy at home method before putting pants on?

Interested to hear from anyone who took a more gradual approach like this.

I would spend a day in pants but no trousers, then trousers a few days later or the next day if he's already used to the feeling of needing to go. The mantra "accidents are part of the process" will help both you and your son if you find he frequently leaks or has full accidents, and you can say things like "you peed in your pants, pee goes in the potty". You'll probably find fewer poo accidents. Is he at nursery? If yes, double check they're happy with pants/potty trained kids in whatever room they're in as sometimes they simply aren't equipped and that could cause your son confusion. Good luck!

Thanks! He’s only nursery 2 days a week, so gives us a 5 day window to try and get him used to pants before trousers have to go on top! Nursery policy seems supportive but haven’t discussed with his key worker yet. He only recently moved up up toddler room and still gets a bit upset at drop off (fine the rest of the day!) so they may want us to wait a bit longer before introducing another change

WIBTAH if I start doing the same thing back to him?

My FIL keeps constantly filming me every single say. He isnt even sneaky about it anymore. He knows I dont like and still does it anyways. He doesnt care. The only time he doesnt is when he sees me filming other stuff for youtube cause he knows that I have an increased chance of catching him with proof if I record him recording me. He also aks me awkward questions about my phone even though he is the one recording me.

Nursery Days Advice

So from Sept my LB will be starting nursery - we have decided he will be going in 3 days a week and then 2 days with me WFH. I can choose the days i work from home, we were going to go with the below
MON - nursery
TUES - home
WED - home
THURS - nursery
FRI - nursery
We are now wondering if he would do better doing consecutive days at nursery ie - mon, tues, wed or wed thurs fri?
Theres also option to do mon wed fri nursery, so alternative days.
Has anyone got any advice re this and how has your little ones took to consecutive/alternate days at nursery!

Thankyou☺️

Boundaries!

Girls iv set a few boundaries for when my little lad arrives and a few family members are not happy at all with them and I can’t help feel nothing but guilt. It will be my 2nd child snd iv limited visits to 30-60min and this is one that one certain member of my family isn’t happy about and wearing perfume iv asked for no strong smelling perfume when they visit my new born and the same family member just isn’t happy at all with them. Am I being unreasonable am I being silly? I feel like im not being respected.

On a serious note.

What do you think about a female co worker being partners with your husband at work from time to time and the day she doesn’t go in for work and your husband is working with another person. She texts YOUR HUSBAND “ tell him to keep my seat warm” how do you perceive that?

Weaning struggles

I know they say food before one is just for fun but my baby is over 7 months now and barely eating any food. He won’t let me spoon feed him and if he does manage to get some food in he spits it out. I know every baby is different but how much are your babies eating at each meal?
