Cheaper breast pumps UK

Heyyyy

My baby starts weaning next month. She’s EBF currently and I haven’t got a pump to express milk for like baby porridge. I don’t intend on using it other than for in food.
Any recommendations?

Get a hand pump by haaka or get a milk catcher. Or you can get a pump through insurance for free or cheaper. I have the lansinoh discreet portable pump and I like it enough. It let's me pump while doing so m e chores

You can use cows milk in food if you want to.. if you’re wanting to use breastmilk I’d just get a cheap manual pump for £20 it’ll do the job perfectly for what you want it for. An expensive electric pump is more faf than it’s worth to pump such small volumes of milk x

I agree about using cows milk in cooking, we have done this since our daughter was about 7 months. If you would rather use breastmilk in food though, Bellababy have reasonably priced electric pumps on Amazon, I think you can get a double pump for about £60 and it works pretty well-I found it much more reliable than the elvie stride

5am wake ups

My 2 year old keeps waking up at 5am and is cranky and tired enough that she wants to go back to sleep but needs lots of cuddles. But because by this point sleep pressure is low she’s takes over an hour to resettle and fall back to sleep. By this point my alarm is going off 6:15am for work 😖😩
She used to wake up nicely around 7am and we’d all be a lot calmer and have breakfast together but now I’m either letting her sleep in a bit so she’s not over tired and there’s always a big rush to get out the door.

Any tips?

She goes to bed at 8-8:30pm naps around 1pm for 1h-1h:30m

Gut feeling

I’m trying to get my mind right, trying to find something to take my mind off this got feeling I’m having that something just isn’t right and when I have this feeling I’ve never been wrong. And I just want to not think about what it could possibly need cause I know once I find out it will not be pleasant. How do you shake your worries and this gut feeling?

Sleeping tips for newborns?

Hi moms!
How are your babies sleeping, especially those under 3 months?

My almost 8-week-old baby sleeps for hours in my arms, on my chest, or in the carrier, even while I’m moving around doing chores. But the moment I transfer him to his bassinet, he starts grunting, wiggling, and wakes up and starts crying.

I can spend up to 2 hours trying to get him to nap in his bassinet, and he still doesn’t fall asleep. By then, his next feeding is already coming up, and he hasn’t napped at all! 😩

At night, he sleeps much more peacefully when we bed-share. I’ve also noticed that he’s calm and quiet on my chest but much noisier and more restless in his bassinet.

I’d love to hear your real-life experiences!

What actually helped your baby sleep in their bassinet? Do you use a special swaddle, a particular type of bassinet, or any tricks to make the transfer easier?

Colicy Newborn

I’m a first time mom and my newborn is about 4 weeks now and began being fussy and just about inconsolable around 2 weeks. Most days he doesn’t nap or sleep at all during the day and is crying just about all day. I can’t put him down without him crying & if i’m lucky on the days he does nap he’s down for about 2-3 hours. I was told newborns sleep most of the day and have “wake windows” but mine doesn’t at all. He’s fed, changed & burped but will cry from morning to night and I spend my days holding and rocking him. Any tips?

Crawling!

When should I get worried that my son is showing little interest in crawling? He’s 8 months old? He’s great and sitting and has just started spinning when he sits but will refuse to go on his tummy.
