Each time I pick my child up from nursery she’s always really silly which is fine, but then it’s like she turns into a demon. Tonight she has hit, kicked, bit me (once), thrown a cardboard box at me because I took her table away after I repeatedly told her to leave it (she was dragging it around the floor and it was catching on the blinds). I’m also pregnant, I’m tired and I’ve just come upstairs to have a little cry. I tried to help her regulate her emotions and speak calmly but she would not listen, wouldn’t calm, was getting more and more irate so my partner took over and I’ve just taken myself away. I’m so upset, I feel like she just hates me and needed to get it off my chest haha

Do you think perhaps she might be a little overstimulated from a full on day at nursery? Sometimes I notice my daughter can be a bit wild on pick up but I try to do a calm activity even just a sit down snack and a quite drive home helps, we always do bathtime on nursery days one because she’s grubby and too I find it’s another way of calming her now perhaps something like that or something similar may help

She's probably exhausted from a full day at nursery. My son gets the same in the evenings after bursery because he's so tired. Everything is the end of the world! The same in the mornings if I have to wake him up for nursery and he's not woken up himself. Tiredness turns him into the devil!
Im pregnant too, so know how you feel. It's nothing against you, or what you're doing, it's their age and the lack of being able to express their emotions x
Thanks girls. I do think it’s the nursery and because I’m pregnant my tolerance is far less I’m just so emosh 😂 I’ll try something different at the end of a big nursery day to see if it helps x

Hey, exact same situation here 🙋🏻♀️ Mine acts silly and it's kinda cute/funny (e.g. swinging on the railings outside of nursery saying she's a gladiator haha). But it's moments away from turning psychotic. Next thing I know she'll be screaming and trying to bite me when I'm getting her into her car seat. Getting her into pj's, cleaning teeth etc. is like conducting an exorcism.
I know with mine it's because she doesn't nap at nursery. It's a mixed age setting and she gets too much FOMO. She's so overtired.
I tend to do the bear minimum and get her to bed ASAP. She has a late pick up which helps so much, as it's gone 6pm by the time we are home and it's straight to bed.
I am also 12wks pregnant, and I do feel your pain with being more emotional. I don't find nursery days so bad though as I know it's so short lived until an evening of peace.
Hopefully you find something that works for you all

My little girl doesn’t go to nursery but is the same 🤣

Sorry, I can't reply directly to your comment.
I had to comment on your post as they sound soo similar!!
Like I said, no real recommendations, other than bedtime ASAP (but that's collection time dependent). Sometimes snacks help when changing her nappy, putting pj's on. Or using weird distractions like pretending to be a witch/monster/fairy changing her nappy (see 'how to talk so little kids will listen' book). But really she's just too tired, so it only helps deescalte by 10%.
Sometimes I find my days off with her harder where she's in a bit of a borderline grump all day, and I so struggle with patience and emotions since being pregnant, it's super hard sometimes x
I had a nappy raffle at my baby shower and have loads of nappy’s but the ones on the left are what I’ve found best and I am running low on them. They are elastic around the front and back unlike the ones on the left I’ve opened 3 more packs of pampers and they are all like the ones on the right. Have they changed or are they a specific style/name

How many feeds is baby having overnight?
Baby is nearly 7 weeks old. He tends to fall asleep downstairs on one of us around 8pm, then when we go up to bed around 10-11pm we give a bottle of formula.
He then sleeps until around 2-3am when he wakes for a nappy change and a breastfeed. He will then go back down until around 5am when we do another change and breastfeed. At this point he gets quite fussy in the next to me so I tend to bring him into bed with me to get more sleep until 7-8am
What are your nights looking like?

Hey ladies. Planning to bottle feed my bubba. Do hospitals have sterilising equipment or should I pack multiple bottles already sterilised? Thank you 🩵

Hello everyone,
What are we doing with our little one’s hands at night? Her nursery was at 18.5 degrees last night and she has a vest, a sleepsuit and her 2.5 tog sleeping bag but when she woke up this morning her little hands were freezing cold even tho her chest was warm!
I always feel extremely bad when I pick her up to cuddle in the morning and those little hands are freezing. I know some people are using the built in mittens of the sleepsuit but it doesn’t work for her because she self soothes during the night by sucking her hands so having them covered wouldn’t work for her!
Anyone else in this situation?

I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my little girl who’s now 4 and a half months old. During that time I’ve had mastitis twice. I’ve been prescribed antibiotics and strong painkillers. Every week there’s always a new lump in either one breast or both which causes me so much discomfort and pain. The area is sore, tender and very uncountable so breastfeeding can hurt. It also hurts to hold her close to my chest because of the lump. The other day I also had a blocked milk duct as there was a white dot on my nipple. I’ve seen the doctors and taken medicines but seems like there’s always a new lump appearing. The doctor mentioned to do hot and cold compresses as well which tbh doesn’t seem to help. I’m feeling quite down about it all and wonder if switching her to formula would be better for her and myself. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them? I would appreciate any advice or tips. Thank you!

I have a 20m old and a 2 month old. Both boys. My 20m old is in size 5 daytime and overnight diapers. My 2m is in size 1. What are we all doing to help with peeing through? Both children pee through their diapers at night (my 2m gets changed during his 3am feeding). I make sure both are always pointed down. do I need to go up a size? I’m at a loss.
