Help!!

Hey mama’s I am currently struggling mentally with my breastfeeding journey. My daughter is 9 months now and exclusively breastfed. I rly tried pumping early on to build a stash for the option to offer bottles when I needed a break or for bonding with dad, but my body has never really responded well to pumping and I get little to no output. So I let it go and kinda just always nurses from the breast but I’m now at the point where I’m confident I wanna wean at a year. She’s getting so big and nursing is getting challenging with the biting the pinching and rolling around on my nipple like a dang alligator. I’ve spent the last 3 days trying to pump again so I can get some milk to offer in bottles and cups so I can get a break and so the transition to cows milk is less stressful because she’s already use to the cup. But guys I’m getting less than and ounce both breast combined. Howwwwwww do I get better output the disappointment is so discouraging and I want to cry I feel so stuck!

Hey momma! She’s so beautiful🤍. Trust me, I understand what you mean about the biting!! It’s terribleeee over here. Have you tried lactation supplements or lactation snacks?? It might help you prouduce a little more. Also body armor helps too!

Also maybe consider trying out a different pump. I know the hands free ones work wonders and it’s definitely less of a hassle!!

Make sure you are using the correct flange size. Stronger suction doesn't mean more milk, i make less milk if I pump at stronger suction. Hands-on pumping helps alot. Try a manual pump sometimes they work better.

It's such a tough phase when they get more mobile!

How often are you feeding now?

If you're still feeding more than at breakfast and bed time. I'd consider skipping one feed, so when you're boobs are full, pumping then. I built up a stash that way when I returned to work at 10 months because my supply was used to 3 feeds but she was having 2. She doesn't necessarily need all the dairy nutrients to come from breastmilk at this age so it can come from yoghurt etc in her food so she's still getting enough and you get an opportunity to pump?

I’ve been feeling so down. I don’t really have anyone to talk to about certain stuff but I’ve just been feeling so depressed lately. Idk what it is. I don’t even want to brush my hair or teeth. None of my pre pregnancy clothes fit I’m almost 5 months postpartum. I’m the biggest I’ve ever been in my whole life 😭 I feel like my bd ruined my life. Not because I have his baby. But because he completely changed after I got pregnant and was cheating on me my whole pregnancy. He put me in a fucked up situation and I can’t get past it. Is it normal to get ppd months later? I haven’t felt this way until just recently. 🫠 I’m just so drained I have no energy to cook or clean. I only shower because me and my baby shower together or I would probably shower every couple of days. 😪 I don’t even feel pretty or recognize myself when I look in the mirror…

My sons doctor said we can use melatonin, is she right?

Last time I questioned about melatonin and a lot of mommies said no to it. My son doesnt have a legit sleep schedule yet. Its hectic. I cant stay up until 430am anymore. I give him melatonin and hes out 30 min after I give it to him for the rest of the night. He also likes taking late nights because hes in school from 1 to 4...what would you suggest?

Breast Pump - Recommendations

Hi all! As a first time mama to be, what do you all recommend for the best breast bump? I know insurance covers this so was hoping to get an idea of what brands are best!

Night-time nappies

My little boy is 8 weeks old. We're using Tesco's
/Aldi nappies during the day. But they just aren't lasting during the night. What nappies is everyone using for nightime?

To tell or not to tell?

My MIL oversteps boundaries, disrespects our parenting decisions and belittles me as a mother in various ways. The first time she did this was when we brought my baby home from hospital and she stayed with us, the second time was recently.
She lives in another country so we only see her once or twice a year. Is it worth telling my husband how I feel or just leave it as he obviously loves her so always excuses her behaviour as 'trying to help' and I don't want to make him sad :/
