I will be going to the midwife today. Please can someone else describe their fist 24hrs breast feeding please so I can get a general idea or if it’s just the way I’m doing it what’s causing it to be soo painful.
Have been using stored colostrum overnight

Agony 😅 this is my 2nd baby and both times has been super painful. Baby gets a good latch most times but as soon as they dont it gets sore and cracked, really hard to heal when theyre constantly feeding.
It should get better as they toughen up x

Frustrating. Sometimes he latches well, sometimes he doesn’t but it’s really hard to figure it out, apart from not being as painful.
My boy has looked like he’s feeding for an hour but hasn’t actually been getting much so he’s lost more than 10% of his birth weight. I now have to pump and top up with formula.
Some hospitals/clinics have drop in classes for breastfeeding - I’ll be going to one myself to spend a day learning how to do it properly!
I don’t think you get told enough how to do it/how hard it is and it makes women think they’ve failed.
