Ladies I need advice and support, tonight is the first night my little boy is going to sleep in his big cot in his own room for the last 7 months he has always been in his next to me crib in my room I need advice and support of how tonight will go I'm currently sat at the top of my stairs crying my eyes out due to knowing my little boy isn't going to be in my room on a night anymore. What can I do to help him fall asleep in his own room. Please help a mamma out x

I was the same worried two nights ago and she did completely fine! Honestly we all sleep better for it you’ll be ok!

Honestly baby will be fine. Both times I managed to fit the cot in our room for a little bit before moving baby into their own room, only so they were used to sleeping in their cot first. I'm not sure it would have really made any difference. My first went into his own room at 6 months, my second was 8 months. I wouldn't say their sleep particularly improved, they both still woke twice a night, but it definitely didn't get any worse. I still rock/cuddle baby to sleep now and he's almost 10 months, but its completely up to you what works best

Asking based on how you’ve written this, do you need him to be in his own room?

I did this when he was 6 months old… fast forward he still sleeps in my bed every night 😂😂😂 was wasted tears he lasted a few hours ahahhaha

I say try doing a day nap in his room , at 8 months my baby still struggles with sleep. Some days are great and some aren’t.

We were really ready at 6 months to get our bedroom back so in a diff position to you (wanted to put light on chat before bed etc rather than tiptoeing around).
At this point Charlie was putting himself to sleep so we did the same routine and then left him to fall asleep :)
