Baby won’t take dummy

Hi all, does anybody have any tips for baby taking dummy? He just point blank refuses and spits it out. I would much prefer he had one so that is he soothed outside of feeds.

Give when drowsy and they should take. Deffo try a few different brands / shapes. How old is baby? make sure you start with the smallest size. There’s normally 0-6 months but also 0-2 months which is what we used at the beginning. My baby refused tommee tippee but took to Mam 0-2 months and we’ve stuck with the Mam brand till date x

I expressed and then dipped the dummy in the milk and gave it to her. At first she’d just take it until the milk was gone and then spit it out and I’d just repeat it. Each day she kept it in a little longer and in about a week she’d completely accepted the dummy. I used one that points upwards because that triggers their sucking reflex. Once she was used to it I managed to move her on to mam dummies

Mine would only take the MAM dummies as well and try holding her like you would to feed and then do small repetative taps on the face of the dummy they might keep refusing it but you just have to stick with it and they will take to it

Why do people have such audacity?!

On vacation with my husband & our youngest baby (10 months). We’re walking down the street & this older lady sees my baby walking & asks how old she was & I answer. Then she says look at that hair & touches her head then immediately pats me on the back & says congratulations. While I’m sure there was good intent, why do random people feel entitled to touching a strangers baby?! It happened so quickly I didn’t even get a chance to react before realizing what had transpired. Would this peeve you?

Pushchair vs carrycot

Has anybody put their bay in the seat attachment yet or are they still in the carry cot. My baby is really nosey and I feel like she’d benefit from being in the pushchair attachment so that she can see but I still feel like she’s small and should be in the carrycot. I know people with older babies who are still in the carrycot so I’m just not sure.

She cries when she’s in the carry cot but is really happy when I pick her up and she can look around. Think part of it is I’m not ready for her to be in the pushchair as it makes her seem like a bigger baby than she is.

Any advice would be appreciated

I just feel like I’m failing

I’ve never felt so deflated and rejected in my life. This last week has just been horrendous. I had mastitis and now my 4 month old has been on a nursing strike all week so she’s hardly feeding. I feel like we used to have such a great bond, she was always smiling and chatting to me and now I just get screamed at most of the day while everyone else gets the smiles. What am I doing so wrong? Why does she hate me so much? I just don’t know what to do anymore because nothing is ever enough or seems right for her.

I just want my smiley, chatty girl back who would eat for the whole day if she was given the chance. I’m completely heartbroken

Baby sleeping in next to me

My baby is 12 weeks old and we mostly cosleep. When we Co sleep he wakes 2 times in the night (bed 11pm - first wake 4am - second wake 6:30am), but when I put him to sleep in the next to me crib he wakes up every 45mins. He is breastfed. Any advice on helping him sleep longer stretches in the crib please.

Do you think if I just completely stop cosleeping he’ll eventually sleep longer in the next to me ?

When is milk supply established?

I'm currently 3.5 weeks pp and I'm still doing about 2-3 pumps from midnight to 7am to get milk supply production going and up, in addition to breastfeeding/ pumping every 2-3 hours in the daytime. It is tiring me out particularly with the early hours pumping. When is milk supply established so I can start to reduce the number of pumping or lengthen the gap of pumping?
