I was so so so so worried about sleep training but my LO was up 5-6 times every night just feeding and feeding for comfort. I also had to exclusively feed him to sleep, which I have done from birth. I was exhausted. I see so much negative stigma around sleep training and I just wanted to post a little positive post for anyone who’s considering/worried about it.
We started sleep training last night, already even after one night my LO slept 7 hours waking once for a quick feed and then a further 3! This is such a huge difference.
We used the Ferber method, with no feeding to sleep, it did take about an hour and a half to get my LO down but fingers crossed tonight is less! It is rough and I was worried he would wake up upset/ frustrated but he’s more happy and energetic than he’s ever been!

I too tried sleep training with my 7months old but could not get over the guilt and heart ache of hearing her cry and call for me. Nights are better now and I completely get its exhausting, if you are strong enough to handle the crying I would also recommend it, she slept 11 hours straight after the first night but she did fall asleep from exhaustion. if you are weak like me, Don’t try it. I’m so traumatised by it! 🥺
I still cannot get over it after a few weeks. We are back to assisted sleep and I’m happy with it.
