How do single parents cope?

I’m so done in, I’m jobless and having to rely on universal, my toddler is feral and has a touch of autism, she literally has a mental break down over everything, even a simple “no don’t that please”, it’s exhausting constantly having to calm her down, especially when you’ve been doing it all day and you’re running on empty, my neighbours must think I’m skinning this child alive with how loud and dramatically she screams when she’s crying. Her biting, kicking and hitting is getting out of control I can’t get a handle on it, her dads not in the picture or even available as he “decided that the army is his best pathway right now” training consists of 8 month of him being away and never available to take her, and after he passes out hill be living down near London, I feel like he decided to go to the army as an excuse to not have to be a parent and to run away from responsibilities, my family live in a different country and never make the trip to come see me or my daughter but always ask “when are you flying over to visit us?“ anytime we call, babies dads side of the family is not involved either, I don’t have any friends to that could or would help, right now things are so hard most days I end with crying because I can’t see it ever getting better. I honestly feel so broken and so alone. I keep wishing I had either the money to have someone watch her so I could go make us a better life or had family or friends to take her so I could work and give her what I never had.

See if there any government help for child care you need to rest. It’s a mental over load. As a single mama it feels like we run out of everything so quickly, patience, time, energy . I see u and I feel you. The lest I can do is open my dm for you to vent. You need to let it out and I’m here to hear you out. #singlemamasupporteachother

I was just thinking this. I'm at the end of my rope even with my husband. I have no idea how single parents do it. My 6 yr old is suspected ASD so I know how hard the meltdowns are. I feel so sorry for my neighbours hearing it at all hours

What country are you in? I find staying in the house the most difficult - all the mess they make on top of them behaving how they do…

I highly recommend a trip to the local park, or library or just a walk in the woods, and take food out.

Noise feels less outside. Eating in a park means no cleaning every surface of your home after every snack/meal. And a change of scenery does well to distract them

Nursery fees

Just received my first invoice from the nursery for May attendance, and they've charged me for 2 bank holidays, but they're not open then, so my little one won't attend nursery. Is this standard practice, to charge for the bank holidays when the nursery doesn't operate? Or just an error, maybe?

Would this bother you?

So my Mum takes care of my bunny back home in Canada and anytime she picks up supplies I always pay her back within 1-2 days (takes time because of coming from a UK bank) she knows this... Yesterday she stated she picked some stuff up, so as usual I said I will be sending her money in 1-2 days to cover it. AFTER we had the convo I sent her a video of our son (her grandson) building a big tower out of mega blocks for the first time, she replied by sending me a photo of a receipt where she circled what I owe her... Again she knows and we already had the conversation prior to this, that as I ALWAYS do and have been doing for the last 2-3 years will pay her back. It bugged me because i was sharing a cute moment and she didn't even respond to what I sent and to top it off she hasn't video called him in 2+ months. Would this bother you? I would look at it differently if maybe I had a habit of not paying her back but I always do all the time and she knows this. It just pissed me off because the only time she ever sends a receipt is if I ask so I know how much to give her back.

Hard work

I have a 10 month old baby boy and he’s honestly such hard work constantly whinging, crying. Just sooooo clingy it’s a joke. I’m not starting to get fed up with him because it’s constant I need a break from him. I also have a 3yr old girl which she is an angel she’s such a good girl and always has been. She’s been nothing like what my boy has been like. Is it just a boy thing that are such hard work or am I just an unlucky one.

Weaning while out? Help please! 🙏

I can’t wrap my head around how on earth I feed my baby solids when I’m not at home - does anyone have any advice/suggestions please?

Atm baby girl is having 1 solid meal a day around 11am after her morning nap. (We are moving up to 2 meals a day when she hits 7 months).

She’ll have something like porridge and fruit or scrambled egg with mash sweet potato and avocado (a mixture of spoon and BLW). I can’t figure out how I would take this sort of food out with me if I happen to be out with her at 11ish and also feeding her with the mess etc 😅 would I just change her meal time or is there a knack to it?? 🙏

Sleep issues

Whenever my partner wants to sleep, I’ll turn my phone off, read elsewhere or leave the room entirely to give him the space to sleep. But when it comes to me, he won’t. He’ll game, he’ll watch loud things on his computer or have someone on. I like complete darkness and no sound as I sleep better but I understand he might need some sound. So we have a fan going in the room or rain music. I compromised with him on that. Lately, I’ve been getting insomnia because he has been gaming non stop lately. When we first moved into this new place, I said I didn’t want his pc in our bedroom. He tried the garage and didn’t like it and ended up moving it all into the room. And I hate it. I don’t know what to do because he won’t put it any where else as it is an expensive pc and he doesn’t want the kids breaking it. What would you do? I am stuck…

I feel awful saying this but

I am to resent my baby. Reason being he’s just driving me up the wall. He is soooo clingy I cannot not put him down when if I’m in the same room he will have a meltdown and won’t stop until I pick him up. He doesnt sit still on my lap he always wants to be standing on my lap. He always seems to be crying I honestly think our neighbours hate us 😬🤣 he just such an unhappy baby the last month. Not sure what to do anymore cause I can’t take much more.

He’s my 2nd. My daughter was and is an absolute angel.

Is it just boys that tend to be nightmare children 😖
