Mastitis - effect on milk supply

Hi everyone! I combo feed my 13 week old as she never was able to latch properly (she latched couple of times only). However, even if she was able to, my milk supply is low. I pump and have been able to slowly increase my supply to around 420ml a day.

Unfortunately, I now have mastitis and I'm currently on antibiotics. My left breast (where I have mastitis) is barely producing any milk. This has impacted my overall milk supply and now I am worried I won't be able to get my supply up after the mastitis has cleared.

Has anyone else with low supply experienced this?

I have days where I feel really low that my body cannot produce a lot of milk. I was feeling better knowing I could still at least pump and give my baby some breast milk and that my supply seemed to be slowly increasing. I hope mastitis has not ruined this for me!

Just keep pumping/feeding, itll be okay! I had it, took antibiotics, keep my routine regular. 13 weeks is still very early, ur supply will grow! Dont worry! Stay consistent and very hydrated!¡

Is this a normal thing?

I gave birth yesterday and had a second degree tear pretty much in a straight line downwards but not too close to my butt hole.
The midwife however had to put her finger up my butt twice when stitching me back together. It was traumatising on top of literally giving birth minutes beforehand 😭 Has anyone else had this happen?? She only explained the second time that she was checking she hadn't stitch into my anus which is OK but I'd rather have been told beforehand, also I don't understand why she'd need to check when she had just explained to me (and the student midwife) that the tear didn't go to the anus. Is this a normal check that they do?

I had a 2nd degree tear with my first baby but I'd had an epidural and was completely out of my face on other medications, mixed with just a terrible birth experience I didn't even take in when the doctor sewed me up, but they never mentioned abing yo put their fingers up there 😬

Baby Monitor Recommendations?

Hey Mammas!
Looking into a baby monitor that isn’t easy for someone to hack into (my sister had someone hack into the WiFi on theirs and take a screen shot of their babies sleeping 😳). I would also like to be able to see my baby from work and talk to her.
Any suggestions? TIA!

White noise for babies… I’m curious what everyone else does 🤍😴

A few questions for you all:

– Do you use white noise for naps, nighttime, or both?
– What type do you use (machine, app, YouTube, etc.)?
– Do you leave it on all night or turn it off once baby is asleep?
– What volume do you keep it at?
– Have you noticed it actually helps your baby settle?
– Do you worry about them becoming dependent on it?
– How long did you use it for?
– When (and how) did you stop using it? 👀
– Did stopping it affect your baby’s sleep at all?

Would love to hear different experiences because I’m still figuring out what works best! 🤍
