Taking baby out

We went into a big augment with my partner because I said no to taking our 12wks baby to costco and because we have a trip booked soon after his 16wks immunisations, he keeps saying even he should not be on a plane because is more riskier 😲. Personally, I thought costco is so congested. He was suggesting we go on a weekend. Am I wrong?

Thats a tricky one.
Personally i wouldnt have minded taking her but it is super busy and for me id rather not have gone. Stressful with a baby.
And a pram in busy costco. Some days there is hardly space. But it would have not been due to getting sick but rather just moving about with a baby.

However, i did take my baby at about 6 months.
She was sitting up already so I placed her in the trolley on those seats.
I put down a blanket and wiped the handles of the trolley however, that night, she was projectile vomiting all night long. We spemd hours and hours in A&E. She just couldnt hold anything in. It was horrible!!!

So ive not done that again!!! But if strapped to you or in a pram, i think that should be fine.
Just super busy!

People can tell you you are right or wrong but at the end of the day it depends how comfortable you feel with taking your baby out. If you feel you want to wait until they have had their 16 week vaccination and you both agreed on that then so be it. What I will say though is you both try to get on the same page of your parenting decisions otherwise these kids be running rings around us and will be divisive as they grow.

It’s down to personal preference, I took my daughter to Costco 5 days after birth and I was comfortable with it.

Never a weekend though, a mid week morning it’s lovely and quiet!

I also have been taking both babies on planes since they were about 8 weeks old and public transport. Both babies had their jabs on time and no issues.

Drunk husband 38 weeks pregnant.

We had a farewell party tonight. We bbq and watched the playoffs and bonded. My sister in law is going to basic for the navy and tonight is her last night before leaving. Well. My husband doesnt normally drink but my father in law does and well. Everyone of legal age to drink were doing shots. My husband had about 26-30 shots of tequila because he was doing the double shot glass. Which is why its so high. Well. My brother in laws managed to get him and our toddler in the car. I drive home. He begins to hurl. OMG. I almost threw up. We get home. Hes crying and apologizing. I settle our toddler in the house. I leave him in the garage to get his throw up clothes in the washer and I begin to clean the vomit around him. (I didnt want to track the vomit into the house) I call my in laws in the process letting them know we made it home. He threw up but he ok. His sister said leave him in the car with his vomit he needs to deal with that on his own. I laughed it off like hahahaha but reallly..tf. He tells me to leave him where he is at. Im said no you are so drunk you can aspirate on vomit and you are my husband. I get my green Bissell I clean up whatever vomit I could while he is still in the seat. Im helping him take off his clothes and suctioning the throw up. I throw up because well. its throw up. I tell him i got what I could but he is going to have to remove his seat because its EVERYWHERE. I leave the car windows down and leave the rest of the cleaning for him tomorrow morning. I got as much as the seat would allow. I get his clothes in the washer. Him in the shower. I wash the vomit off his body. Gave him fluids and got him dressed and in bed. Should I have done what I had done or not? Would you leave your spouse in their own mess or help them out?

Would you let her babysit?

My family goes to the same restaurant weekly, have been going for over a year so they know us
The manager (45-50 if I had to guess) comes and talks to us, she loves kids so she loves coming and seeing how my son is (he’s almost 3)
Eventually after getting more familiar she asked me if she could take my son to walk around the restaurant, my family and I always take turns doing this when he gets fussy
I said it’s fine since I can see and I know she’s not going anywhere, later she said if I’m ever in need of a babysitter to let her know
I really could use a babysitter, I never have time to myself, but is it okay to trust her? I don’t want to be too trusting but I also don’t want to be paranoid
So moms who are protective but not paranoid, what do you think? Should I let her babysit? Is this what having a village is?

In laws

How are we dealing with our over bearing in laws? My MIL keeps making comments on how she hates the name we picked out for our baby. & she keeps calling her "my baby" or " my princess" . I get it that she's excited, but I'm so annoyed

Partner working a lot

I’m not sure if I’m asking for too much, my husband has his own business and it’s been busier than usual and short of staff. I’m a week from my due date and we have a 3 years old, which I stay home with. I’m just felling that I’m taking myself to the limit here! Now he tells me he’s not sure if he can take days off this week. I really appreciate his efforts as he’s the breadwinner but I also need support specifically at this stage of pregnancy.

Fire hose

Hello mums, I have a nearly 6 week old lil boy. The question is... I'll put his nappy on and make sure his penis is pointing down yet some how he manages to wee out the top of his nappy toward what ever side he has managed to wriggle and worm his way onto. Is there any way to stop this? He went through 3 onesies last night wetting though to nearly his shoulders in one go. And yes his penis does stand up when he has to wee could that be part of it?

I feel so behind in my baby’s weaning journey…

My baby is 9.5 months old and she likes most things but isn’t that interested in solids most of the time. Even when she eats really well (relatively) she’d be so uninterested in the food in the beginning until I trick her into tasting it and she’s like ā€œoh.. that’s not too badā€ and eats a bunch more. I don’t know how to describe it but it’s like she’s still not used to solids being a source of nutrition like she expects to have milk when she’s hungry.

I’m not sure if I give her too much milk? I try to give her solids before milk (and make sure it’s been at least 2 hours since the last bottle) but sometimes I still think she’s either not hungry enough or too hungry and frustrated. Or should I give her a bite of something I know she’s always interested in first to entice her? (Pretty much always yogurt or smooth fruit purĆ©es )

I just keep seeing posts online about weaning and it seems like we should be beyond this stage now?? Did I not offer food often enough in the past so she didn’t learn as fast??
