Sleep

Hi All!

I am just wanting some advice,

Currently my 3 month nearly 4 month old baby sleeps from 11pm-11am with one waking throughout the night, which I am definitely not complaining about!

But she will only nap for 20-40 mins throughout the day no matter what I try in terms of contact nap, in cot, etc.

Is there anything I could do help extend those naps or is she getting enough sleep at night, there’s no pressure for sleep?

Or do I just leave it for now, knowing the 4 month sleep regression is about to start?

My babu sleeps exactly the same schedule. From what I've read its okay, they can just be a bit more fussy throughout the day, and right before bed. Don't want to necessarily force them to sleep. And honestly if the schedule works for you its a good thing.

Thats prefectly normal for daytime naps, especially with her sleeping so well at night (so jealous!!). Since shes sleeping well at night, i wouldnt try to force anything. It may do more damage than good.

The sleep pattern is normal. I would only say that 11pm bedtime is late.

Random noises

Does anyone else’s baby (she’s 5 months old) make this god awful noise. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with her except she needs an exorcism. Will this phase pass because I haaaaaate the sound 🤢

Would you be annoyed?

Very short , but my partner takes forever in toilet . When he goes to shower it takes around 1 hr , every time, and I’m getting annoyed as today he went to shower right before baby’s sleep time and omg im annoyed that he does not understand that I need toilet as well that I need to shower as well and I don’t want to shower at midnight because he cannot finished faster, it’s okay to take your time , but come on - 1 hr every fucking day 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Regret

Had an interesting chat with my best friend today who’s on the fence about whether she wants to have kids or not

She proceeded to tell me that most of the people she knows with kids have told her they regret having them, wished they’d never had them, or that it “completely ruined their lives”. She said all of her work colleagues with kids repeatedly tell her “don’t do it” and that if they could go back in time they never would have had their children, which kind of surprised me as it’s not an opinion I’ve really heard much myself but she’s saying shes now been lead to believe the majority of people actually regret having their children but don’t admit it, and it’s really put her off and steered her away from thinking she wants to be a mum one day

Made me curious - has anyone here ever felt like that at times? Even on my worst days where the kids have driven me CRAZY I can’t imagine undoing it or wishing to have not had them, but I know everyone’s experience is different so would be really interesting to hear other perspectives!

Need help!

I’m 1 week postpartum and I cry all the time. When the baby cries, I cry even more. When he can’t sleep, I get anxious and start crying too. I feel like I’m having severe baby blues. I’m not able to eat or drink, and I feel so sad. I don’t know why I’m feeling this way.

Will it get better?

I feel afraid, anxious, and overwhelmed. Also, when we hold the baby, he sleeps, but when we put him down, he wakes up, and it makes me so anxious.

Is this normal?

5 week old no poop

My 5 week old is breastfed about 10 times a day for around half an hour each feed. Usually he poops after every feed, sometimes more, however, since yesterday morning he has not pooed. Should I be worried? He seems like he needs to go but is in discomfort. I’ve tried bicycles, a warm bath, rubbing his tummy etc to try and help but doesn’t seem to help him. Should I contact his gp? Please give advise as he seems in so much discomfort! Thanks!

Have you ever experienced post partum rage? The kind that makes you scared of yourself.

Still seems taboo to mention but just wondering how common this actually is?
