9th percentile weight

Our 12 week old daughter was weighed today and has gone from middle of 9th/25th percentile to 9th percentile. She is exclusively breastfed so I am a little disheartened as no signs/ wasn’t expecting it. She is well and content in herself and has regular normal nappies. I am due to take her back in 4 weeks to check weight. They weren’t overly concerned but want to check in 4 weeks. Anything I can do in that time to help feed her up and get her back on track. She is exclusively breastfed on demand and is a good sleeper so fed once during night.

My lactation nurse told me that breastfed babies don’t always gain as quickly as formula fed babies. My girl is also tiny but absolutely thriving in every category other than rapid weight gain. We are also keeping a close eye with doctors, she is steadily gaining but just on the smaller side. All babies are so different but it’s good youre keeping up with your medical team. They told us to fortify my milk with formula but my girl won’t take a bottle. They may have you try that at some point but hang in there and know youre not alone!

I had the same thing happen with my baby when she was 4 weeks old. She is exclusively breastfed as well the only thing I changed was once she was around 3/4 of the way through feeding I’d swap her to the other breast so that she got the fattier milk that comes in the first few gulps. She’s 7 weeks now and is so chubby and I have no weight concerns anymore. I wouldn’t worry too much as long as your baby is happy and fed she’ll put the weight on eventually.

Thanks ladies for the reassurance.

My sons 5 months always been between 9th and 25th breast fed too, the weight charts are for babies on formula as they gain a lot faster than breastfeed babies. Then when there is an issue there’s panic! I believe some trusts have been trying to get separate charts 📈
But you ain’t doing anything wrong

Considering a boob job

I had tiny boobs before I had a baby and once I started breast feeding they got to a really nice size I was happy with. Now I’ve stopped they’ve shrunk to basically nothing and it’s making me so self conscious!! Has anyone had a boob job after their baby and would you recommend? I would like baby no.2 though so should I wait?

Ferber method

Has anyone tried this? I started tonight and I just can’t wait 5+ minutes, especially with him being in our room.
He goes down fine at night but is up at 4 am every morning, at this point he’s not hungry it’s just habit. I’ve been trying for over an hour now I feel like I’m not getting anywhere, it’s like he’s wide awake wired. He’s 6 months for record.
I end up putting him on boob and putting him in bed with me as I’m just exhausted.
I read about offering water instead at this time to break the cycle, but he still can’t soothe himself back to sleep so it still takes me over an hour to get him back down, at that point he’s basically done a wake window 🥲 please help!

How do you still breastfeed baby if she’s on 3 solid meals a day??

My little girl is 6 months tomorrow and we did start her early (no comments on that please because it’s not helpful). She’s doing really well eating her solids and currently has one in the morning and one in the evening but I think she’ll be ready for 3 solids but not sure how to do it so that she is still mostly breastfed? She’s had baby rice this morning with some water and then gone to sleep so I’m feeling quite bad now because I don’t want her to not be mostly breastfed

Breastfeeding newborn

Is it okay that my 3day old is feeding for random times?

Like sometimes she won't stop for 30-45 minutes, then other times she has 10 minutes on one boob and then falls asleep?

Baby struggling to poop

Hi guys,

(To preface this, we are taking him to the Drs today)
My baby is 2 weeks old and formula fed and for the last week, he has really struggled to poop.
He's passing some really hard paler yellow stools. Once he passes these, he seems to be able to get less formed stools out but it's still more formed than it should be at his age.
He's constantly straining, grunting and trying to go and none of the methods like cycling his legs, etc seem to work.

Have any of you come across this before?
What worked/what was the cause in the end?

From,
A Mam that just wants her baby to poop comfortably 🥺

Anyone else completely burned out????

I am so close to losing it. My baby is 9 weeks and she is the cutest sweetest baby and I genuinely think I’m very lucky because she’s really not that difficult (and everyone keeps telling me this and I agree) yet I’m still so overwhelmed and burned out. At week 6 she started only wanting contact naps during the day, fine I did this. She doesn’t like to be babyworn I need to hold her and sit. Now at weeks 9 just a regular contact nap is not enough, she only settles when I hold her and jump through hoops, make saltos, bounce, swing, whatever freaking movement exists she wants that otherwise she won’t sleep. My body can’t take this anymore and if I don’t do this she doesn’t sleep and gets all crazy. They said it would het better by week 8 but it’s only getting worse - I feel like such a bad mum because I can’t even deal with one baby. HOW DO YOU MUMS DO THIS WITH MORE KIDS?? I respect you so much!!!! I want 4 kids but I can’t even handle 1. Anyway that’s all for now. And yes she feeds well, is not colic, has not a lot of gas discomfort so that’s all okay, sleeps well at night and my husband is the best and supportive help when he’s home from work. Yet I still can’t manage. Great.
