I use to use reddit a long time ago and then stopped because a lot of the commenters were either trolls or very determined to be mean to the original posters. One of them even commented "I have been watching you." And saying how they have been silently stalking my profile for a long time. Wtf. I am at a point where I think reddit is filled with people who are not who they say they are. They are either bots, trolls or angry teenagers. And some of them liked to twist peoples words or gaslight the crap out of OPs. I have witnessed this happen to other OPs too. Not just to myself.

I absolutely still use it. However, what you're seemingly describing is using reddit for advice or to vent or a similar situation and I just feel like that's a can of worms that if you're gonna open you absolutely need to be prepared for all types of reactions/comments. Also, I absolutely hide my posts and comments from others because that's my business.
I don't use reddit for this but will definitely read/comment on stuff like that if I feel like it. But as far as other stuff? There's some reddit pages that are gold as far as the entertainment/amusement level tbh. And the nicu parents reddit absolutely helped me during my daughter's nicu stay.
