No Breast Milk …

Hi mumma’s ! A little vulnerable moment coming up …

Had baby girl 6days ago ! The most amazing little blessing.

However … my breast milk has yet to come in ! I didn’t produce much colostrum and I have inverted nipples so I always knew breastfeeding would be hard … but NOT impossible

Anyway … I suffered a lot of trauma giving birth, haemorrhaged and lost 2L of blood etc

My question is to the mumma’s who had delayed milk production and the mummas with inverted nips !!

- How are you are doing it ?
- When did your milk come in ?
- Any tips and tricks ??

Don’t give up mine took a day or two then became so hard and lumpy i pumped it down then started drinking mothers milk tea and kept putting her on to latch until she did it and I pumped every morning even if it was just alittle anything you get is enough I’m so glad i didn’t have to do formula but I had plant based formula on stand by just in case …. Still going strong at 2 trying to ween her off now though but breastfeeding has been super beneficial for her and her wellness that i did it longer than i initially planned

The same thing happened to me. I have flat nipples so the midwife, while I was still in hospital, recommended nipple shields and I’ve been using those since day 1 and that’s really helped. Now she’s older (since about 7 weeks) and her mouth has grown, she’s learned to feed without them. My milk came in around day 5 but I had a big baby and my milk wasn’t always enough so I was topping up with formula very early on and then wasn’t consistent with breastfeeding so my supply dropped and I now only do two feeds a day as breastfeeds. At the start though, I was consistently pumping and that really helped

When did your LO start sleeping through the night?

My mom(step mom technically) made a somewhat rude comment about my LO's sleep. They are 16 months old and still wake up every 2 or 3 hrs throughout the night. But like usually just stirs or fussing & readjusts for a minute then goes back to sleep but I of course fully wake each time. Only 1 or 2 wakes are for a longer stretch and they need help going back to sleep. My mom asked how he's been sleeping & I said the usual, still up every 2 or 3 hours and she said "jeez I've never heard a kid that age sleeping that bad" like she was accusing me of not teaching them to sleep better by now. And I just wanted to get some validation that it's just how my kid is and wanted to know if others have kids that just sleep poorly still at 16 months?

Autism or just age??

I want to be as sensitive as I can regarding this subject.
I have a 19 month old son, he’s walking, playing, sleeping, eating ‘normal’ however there is barely any eye contact, no waving or pointing at things, there’s no real words and even when he does say mama, dada etc he’s not saying it to get our attention so I believe he’s not understanding what the words mean!
We are very much in the tantrum period and meltdowns I can’t count how many he has a day.
My mum has out right said he has autism, which upset me as I believe this is my fault and I’ve let him down.
Does this warrant him needing to be checked and tested?

I’m sorry if this has offended anyone I just don’t know where to start or begin on what to do.

Thank you xx

Struggling

this is so uncomfortable for me to post but I want to know if anyone feels the same way…

my baby is just over a month old and he only ever cries when he is with me, he’s fine with his dad and both sets of grandparents but he cries and cries when he’s with me..

I’ve convinced myself he hates me, is anybody else’s baby like this or does he just really not like me :(

Is this normal I need serious helllllllppppppp

Hi! My son is 2 years and 8 months old and he doesn’t listen to anything I say unless I would make a threat but now that doesn’t even work even if I’ve continuously followed through with the threat he will scream at me and purposely do things like this evening for example he kept on trying to throw a ball at my dinner and then succeeded and then he tipped my drink out on the floor. That’s just this evening it’s tipping me over the edge as I jus feel like nothing is fun and he’s stressing me out to the max. It seems like it’s non stop am I the only one dealing with this he will scream and not let meput him to bed or read him a story and call me rubbish feeling so deflated can anyone help or shed some light
