Instead she will hold her wee in all day which im worried will affect her long-term.
Ive had times sitting in a public bathroom for a good 20 minutes until she wees!
I saw yesterday while at a park a mum take her children (looked about 5 and 6) to the car where she got a potty for them to use.
Do others do this?
I hadn't thought about it before as thought its going backwards but my daughter still uses the potty sometimes at home aswell as our toilet!

Has she said why she hates using them? We keep a potty in the boot for our boy of a similar age just in case - he still uses the potty at home as well! But we’ve got a little travel seat for public toilets which as helped :)

I have an emergency fold down potty in the car incase he’s desperate to go and there’s no available toilet, but it’s been in my car a year and he’s never used it😂 has she said to you at all why she doesn’t like it?

Tbh I am the one who doesn’t like her using public toilet because all I think of is infection so I just pray and hope she doesn’t need it. But if she does, I just put tissue all over and make it comfortable for her. But before she was 4 I used to take travel potty with me

We take a travel potty out with us which is really useful

It’s me with the fear of public toilets, I also have the fold out potty in the boot and use it a lot. It does not affect her, she uses the toilet herself at nursery and if my partner is with me he will take her to the toilet. At home we use a mix of the toilet or the potty depending on what room we are in.

I used to be like this as a kid (still kinda weird about it but a girl's gotta go) and I ended up with chronic UTIs. Why is she afraid of them? I personally didn't like them for sanitary reasons and now I'm only able to use them if I lay down toilet paper (pooping) or squat above the seat (peeing).

Have you tried a reward? My daughter was really scared of using public restrooms but then I got her a big Elmo sticker that she desperately wanted and I told her she can only have it if she goes potty at the store. Well it worked and now she goes no issue. I usually have to help cover her ears when it flushes because she hates loud noises but other than that she does really good now. And I only needed to reward her the one time. I think it was more about feeling safe than anything

We have a my carry potty for emergencies, I keep it in the car along with nappy sacks and anti bacterial wipes!

Has she had a bad experience where she sat on a toilet with the seat not down and she's "fallen in" ? Which as we all know is terrifying!
We had a foldable toilet seat with a frog face on, could that help?

My daughter was like that for a while but grew out of it. Where we live there are no good toilets. So it was an issue for both of us.
