Are you all struggling to get your baby to burp?

I'm not sure why but it feels impossible to get my boy to burp, no matter the position or length of trying. The only one who could get him to burp was my mom and it only worked for her that first week home and she's already back to work (she stayed with us the first week home so we could get some sleep and she helped out with the house chores) Do you all have any tips or are you struggling too?

I would say don’t let him get too full feed half then try to burp and feed the other half to burp again rub his back from bottom to top

Try and push his back straight so he’s got the best posture you’ve ever seen anyone have lmao obviously if you’ve already tried that then ignore. I think sometimes if they’re fed at a certain angle they sometimes don’t actually have any trapped air to burp up I found that with my son if he was fed slightly leaning to the left he actually wouldn’t burp or had tiny ones instead of big burps. I suppose there’s only so long you can sit there and try and burp them until you feel like you’re gonna lose your mind 😂 but generally I’d say if he’s not burping after 10-15 minutes he probably won’t burp or will burp randomly when you pick him up and hold him upright later on when it’s had time to brew

I recommend using infacol. Squeeze a dropper onto their tongue before a feed. My little one is the same. The first time we used infacol, they did a huge burp as soon as we sat him up x

Overfeeding newborn?!

Today I found out from my GP that feed on demand relates to breastfeeding. I’ve in fact been overfeeding my precious newborn and I feel both embarrassed and guilty.

I’m neurodiverse so I took that phrase literally and although I shouldn’t I feel so bad. She’s been in pain and her stomach was large!! My husband was like that’s normal and I’m so happy I finally listened to myself to get it checked after being gaslit so many times.

Anyway, this is to say follow your instincts and ignore formula pack feeding guidance 😅

Car seat

What car seats did you move onto once your little one outgrew their first car seat? Any you’d recommended (or avoid)

Breastfeeding continuously

I am starting to feel like all my baby does is latch to my boobs (she has since birth if I’m honest) I understand they use the boobs for food, comfort, to regulate themselves etc, which I don’t want to stop but it’s beginning to make me feel isolated and unable to do anything other than sit and feed her. Advice or suggestions welcome to get me through 🙏 x

Pump recommendations?

I’m exclusively breastfeeding my 7 week old, but would like to now have a freezer stash and have the option for my partner to do an evening feed, I’ve seen the momcozy pumps, but they are quite expensive any recommendations for something cheaper? ☺️ thanks!

Sleep training

No hate please, I know this is a controversial topic.

Has anyone looked into sleep training now our little ones are approaching 5 months old? My daughter is still waking multiple times in the night and needs her dummy, rocking or feeding to get back to sleep. She is also very hard to get to sleep at bedtime. I am not set on eliminating night feeds altogether as I know these are normal, but I would like to be able to get some sleep in the near future and also do my eldest daughter’s bedtime, which is impossible at the moment.

Considering some form of sleep training but don’t really know where to start. Is anyone else looking into this or have any advice?
