Hi i was just wondering if someone else has been in the same boat and i don’t know if it sounds stupid but
I left my 4 nearly 5 month old to sleep at his nanans who lives a 2 min drive away from us he’s slept there before but not recently and from beginning he was just screaming crying i’ve never heard him cry like this before! he has a nappy rash so i thought he might’ve been in pain anyway they tried everything he usually loves but they called me to come and get him so i’m panicking very concerned like what’s wrong with him? but as soon as i got there and brought him home he’s been fine happy and smiling i obviously looked it up and it said separation anxiety among other stuff. Is this an actual thing? can a 5 month old have separation anxiety or am i just overthinking?

I’m dealing with the same… it’s not stupid. Just means at this moment, they see you as their main caregiver and secure anchor when exploring the world.
It’s frustrating to your routines but absorb it because it’ll only last so long and then they won’t need you as much.
What’s helping us is going to groups, shops saying hello to people and having two people play with them at a time so they can see others can also provide security xx

Honestly this reaction is totally normal for this age. They think they are a physical piece of you till they start moving (could be when they start crawling or when they start walking). With out now 2 year old we didn't start sleepovers till around 6 months when she was crawling as she wanted less to do with me 😂
