Next to me crib

How do you get newborn to sleep in the next to me?

I have tried but end up giving up, going downstairs putting him in the carry cot and he is absolutely fine/drifts off!

Ive tried putting a top in the next to me so he can smell me but that doesn't seem to work.

Environment is the same; dark room etc.

He's 7 days old today, is it just perseverance and eventually he will just do it? Or are there any tips to encourage him to stay/sleep in the next 2 me?

When my son was born he wouldn’t sleep in the next to me, but would sleep in his Moses basket. I think because it was smaller and it wasn’t such a huge space for him he felt more like he did in the womb. When I moved him to next to be I got him a sleeping bag and that helped x

Put there bed sheet wrapped top you for the day. If you breast feed try put your milk on the sheet. Thats what I did but also don’t feel pressured if they don’t and they only co sleep they have been in you for 9 months and I think there’s a massive stigma that they have to be in the necto me. I would honestly do whatever works for you

Yes we ended up putting the moses basket into the next to me for a few weeks until he outgrew the next to me, and then I put the mattress and sheet he had been using in the next to me just on top of the other mattress against one of the sides of the next to me sort of in the corner and that seemed to work for the most part, I had him in a swaddle sack too because he had a very strong startle reflex so that could help too. Have you got a sound machine?

Yes my boy didnt take to the crib newborn wo we had to put moses basket in the crib, he grew out of it prerty quick but just before he did i put him in the crib for naps to get him used to it and hes 3 months now and loves it. He has a sleeping bag too.

We had this but it applied for everything that wasn’t on me or my partner! It’s so normal as they’re so used to being in your tummy for 9 months, all cosy and snug. Eventually she just grew out of it, but what did help was having a warm surface through a heated blanket which was placed down beforehand (and removed) and a swaddle! But in all honesty we co slept for the longest time!

My little one wouldn't sleep in the next to me until around 4 months old.. would sleep in the moses basket no bother tho!

My baby hated the next to me since she was born, so we ended up co-sleeping! She is now 4 months and is now starting to sleep in then next to me 😊
I would say don’t stress to much about it ❤️

My baby hated the next to me until they were about 8 weeks old, until then we used our Moses basket next to the bed, I think they prefer to be cosy rather than in some massive space! But just make sure to take any insert out of the Moses basket as it’s a suffocation risk if they roll over! Honestly just do what gets you the most sleep it’s a crazy time and pushing them to sleep somewhere they aren’t comfortable isn’t worth the time you waste not sleeping lol xx

Which laundry detergent are you using?

Hi all, what laundry detergent are you using? I know fairy tends to be the go to for most, but I really don't like the smell of it.

Any suggestions on others?

Private parts

Soo, my five year old foster kiddo has been with us for about three months now and he is constantly grabbing his penis to the point he makes it hard. I haven't had to deal with this ever, so I'm not quite sure how to handle it. I've tried telling him he can only touch it when he's alone, going to the bathroom, or washing it, but he hasn't stopped. I don't want to shame him over something that's natural, but I also don't want him grabbing himself in front of people. Help!

Where are we changing our babies?

Hey y’all! My baby is 5 months. I used to change her on her dresser changing pad, now she’s a tornado and I had to bring out the halo bassinet to change her in for safety reasons. Eventually she will grow out of it, now I’m thinking… where are you guys change your baby? Cause the crib at some point will be lowered, bassinet too small, floor is very low, and a dresser seems to be unsafe(at least for now)

Drying milk supply

I’ve decided after 18 weeks of exclusively pumping that I am done. Switching to formula but obviously I know I can’t just stop pumping.

I’ve cut down to 3 pumps a day (plus an 8 min pump in the middle of the night because uncomfortable) and i’m producing the same, if not more than I was on 4/5 pumps a day. Currently producing around 900ml on 3/4 pumps.

How long will it take for my supply to stop? I just want it over with😢
