Adoption

Has anyone had any experience with adoption? I had a very traumatic pregnancy and birth so I am considering adopting my 2nd child. Does anyone have any advice, experience or places to start doing research?

Thanks so much

Hey, good Morning,

I understand adoption may be a sensitive subject, And if you’ve made up your mind, and it’s final then I hope your journey finds you well.

But please do attempt to try every avenue before , if it’s a possibility…
You’ve mentioned the birth and pregnancy where traumatic but please don’t allow that to be a fault of the babies outcome.
If you could potentially try and see someone or a therapist if it’s a case of you feeling you have no bond towards the baby because of the trauma/ whatever your reasoning may be.

I hope your journey back to happiness finds you well 🙌🏽

Have a look a banardos. My husband and I are potentially going to adopt a 3rd child as my last two pregnancies both didn't agree with me (Hornmones man...) and the births were also very horrid. I've looked at banardos and they seem to be a really good place to talk to that will explain the process.

Husbands reaction to finding out im pregnant

My husband and I have been trying for our second child for 5 months now and yesterday I finally got a positive pregnancy test. I waited until today to tell him as I was in a rush to get to work yesterday. I asked him to pick a hand and had the test behind my back. He did this uncomfortable half smile and commented ew why would you give me a stick of your wee? Like maybe it was a joke but cmon?! Then he commented how i should just test again in a few days as it may be negative next time. Im quite put off by his reaction as I hoped he would atleast smile instead of trying to minimise it. Is that normal?

One and done guilt

My son is nearly 2 and we have decided we are one and done. I know I couldn’t cope with 2 (or more) kids, I am autistic and can’t cope well with noise/being touched all the time/general chaos. But I feel so sad for him that he won’t have a sibling. He is getting to the age where he wants to play with other kids now, we were just at the park and he wanted to play with a pair of siblings but they only wanted to play with each other and I feel so guilty and sad. Age is not on my side to be able to wait until he’s older to have another child. Does anyone else feel like this.
