My baby starts nursery in August and we do contact naps only .

We LOVE them 🤣 when do we need to start practicing cot naps for nursery ?? Anyone has any tips and tricks to prepare baby for nursery ? ( Like ; how long did it take to your baby to adapt , how did you do it? )

We're in the same boat at the moment. But start nursery settling days on Tuesday, and properly there mid June.

Ive attempted out first cot nap this afternoon and he seems to have just taken to it 🤞🏼
If I come across anything or they give any tips next week I'll let you know! 😬

You don’t really need to practice cot naps as baby is used to contact napping with you. They will find their own way at nursery as they won’t necessarily ‘expect’ to contact nap there with it being a different environment. It can be a really good way to keep the connection while they’re settling too! X

Mine is a contact napper but happily goes down at nursery, usually does 1-2 hour naps with minimal interference there but still needs the contact at home! So not really anything you do need to do, just soak them up x

Do you think sometimes parents expect too much out of a toddler?

A lot of times I see posts and sometimes they come off as they want their toddlers to have Boarding School behaviour or 5* eating habits and robot emotions. The moment they don't, then you see people comment to "whoop them" or therapy or label them as monsters etc. It's frustrating as adults when we are learning something new, so imagine what it's like for toddlers learning EVERYTHING new from their emotions to the world to walking, talking, eating, being independent. In my opinion sometimes there are too many expectations put on toddlers, I mean I trained pretty untrainable adults but I never said I hated them, obviously never wanted to smack them or tell them they needed therapy.

Lip tie

Hey everyone! My son Arlo is 13 months, I'm a little bit worried he has a lip tie... doesn't seem to be in any distress or discomfort with it, what do you think?

Question for mums of 2x

Ive got a 2yr old and a newborn (1x week old)

Interested to hear from other mums if you had kids with a similar age gap, what did you find the hardest or most challenging?

Just trying to mentally prepare myself for what could come.

Right now my fears are keeping up routines on my own when hubby goes back to work as I ebf and no idea how im going to be able to do it 😬

Ferber technique

Has anyone had success with doing Ferber?? My 10 month old was an amazing sleeper until he was 6-7 months old, and now we’ve had 3-4 straight months of insane sleep deprivation and it’s leaving me at my wits end. He only settles by us picking him up and rocking or just holding him, but immediately wakes up and is unsettled when we put him in his cot. It takes hours to settle him, but then he’ll still wake a few hours later anyway. We’ve tried everyyyyything, light, no light, sleeping bag, blanket, different pyjamas, nappy change, dummy, white noise, you name it we’ve done it. Were against the cry it out method so Ferber sleep training seems like a happy medium. Has anyone done it? Or does anyone have any more advice? I’m desperate 😫

Postpartum🥲

I really hope I’m not alone in this; I’m a first time mom and this has honestly been the most rewarding yet exhausting experience I’ve ever gone through. I love being a mom but sometimes I find myself grieving how I was before I became a mom & it makes me pretty sad sometimes. I knew about PPD but I didn’t think it would hit me like a truck. I feel bad when I feel myself getting overwhelmed and I feel like a bad mom when I do and my friends and family tell me all the time that I’m not and they really encourage me & it’s crazy because I know I’m a good mom yet I still have those feelings sometimes😭. My brain has also got up & walked away somewhere because I don’t remember shit & feel like I’m losing my mind sometimes lol
