First jab

My son is 8 weeks old, he’s booked to have his first jab on Tuesday, I’m a little nervous of what side affects I should look out for or things I should know ?
Any advice would be appreciated 🙂

They should give you a leaflet, main thing is take paracetamol with you. They may give the baby the first dose or ask you to. Look out for their temp not coming down.

If you give the rotavirus oral vaccine it is live and could give you the poops, so just make sure you are extra careful with changing nappies and handwashing. Other than that it should be ok.

My little one had a big big diarrhoea poop one of the vaccines (the day after his first set) and was grouchy and just wanted boob and sleep. Other than that he was okay x

Give calpol 1 hour before jabs, and then give another couple of rounds at the time intervals on the box x

Calpol, they cry you feel guilty, they go to sleep and then they're fine. My LO didn't have any side effects at all.
Good luck and lots of cuddles 🤗

My little boys is wednesday!!
With my first he was just a little sleepy and irritatable, little sicky after feeds but thankfully no temps or anything - & was right as rain after a day or two!

I was always told calpol after not before but this seems to vary!
Baby will cry and its horrible - but they be fine after a few minutes, its over so fast!
The oral medication we have to be careful of the nappies for 7-10days as it could give us the virus 🙈 xxx

My little one had her 8week baby ones last Monday. I gave her calpol after but if anything she was just very sleepy afterwards so lots of cuddles.

Must admit I totally forgot about the nappies 🤢😂 they were next level but yes make sure you give your hands a good wash after dealing with them.

Made it easier for the nurse by taking her in a top and bottoms as well so it was quick and didn’t need to faff getting her dressed after.

Do you think sometimes parents expect too much out of a toddler?

A lot of times I see posts and sometimes they come off as they want their toddlers to have Boarding School behaviour or 5* eating habits and robot emotions. The moment they don't, then you see people comment to "whoop them" or therapy or label them as monsters etc. It's frustrating as adults when we are learning something new, so imagine what it's like for toddlers learning EVERYTHING new from their emotions to the world to walking, talking, eating, being independent. In my opinion sometimes there are too many expectations put on toddlers, I mean I trained pretty untrainable adults but I never said I hated them, obviously never wanted to smack them or tell them they needed therapy.

Naps !

First time I've ever posted anything on here so absolutely no clue how it works haha !
My eldest is 2 and she stopped her naps around 6 months ago and has been absolutely great with it but recently around 3-4pm she's acting really tired and getting really aggy and wingey ! Anyone have any experience with this or any advice on what to do ? 🤣

Between her and her little sister we are quite literally fighting for our lives at bedtime😅

Question for mums of 2x

Ive got a 2yr old and a newborn (1x week old)

Interested to hear from other mums if you had kids with a similar age gap, what did you find the hardest or most challenging?

Just trying to mentally prepare myself for what could come.

Right now my fears are keeping up routines on my own when hubby goes back to work as I ebf and no idea how im going to be able to do it 😬

Breastfeeding

I’d like to breastfeed but not exclusively as I want my partner to be able to help out with feeds and have the flexibility. There are so many brands and I don’t know where to start!

Is it best to start with a manual one? Should I go with a wearable one like Momcosy? Any recommendations appreciated 🙏

White noise!

Hey mamas
When did you stop putting your baby to sleep without white noise?
My baby will be 11 months nest week and can't even take a nap without ehite noise.
Is so annoying, and sometimes we gave to listen to that in the middle of the night when he don't want to sleep.
