Emergency c-section

I had a scan today and unfortunately there is an issue with the placenta. The consultant basically said that they will monitor but it is likely that this will end in an emergency c-section. Is there anything you’d take with you in your hospital bag specific to c-section? My last birth was natural ending in forceps

There's not really anything majorly different or extra to take, but the main thing I would say is take loose clothes, ideally dresses if you can so it won't sit on c section scar, or joggers or leggings that go high up above the scar are good. I personally found that the adult incontinence nappies/knickers were much easier to get on and didn't dig in as much around my scar as ordinary knickers and postpartum sanitary towel did (I'm talking the big tena lady incontinence pants - not trendy but very practical).

I got the Frida mom disposable shorts and they were SO comfy - worth every penny. I added my own maternity pads into them and re-wore the shorts for a couple of days before changing them out (changed the pads as often as needed obviously!). I also took really loose pyjamas and even left hosp in them

Mine was an emergency so I hadn't packed especially for it but definitely nighties, dresses ect... Maternity leggings work too! You'll bleed just like with a vaginal birth so definitely take adult nappies. When I got home I found a c shaped nursing pillow really useful so baby wasn't sat on my tummy while feeding. Lots of paracetamol and ibuprofen! You probably won't shower for a while so dry shampoo, wipes ect to help you feel more fresh! I also found sleeping on the sofa more comfortable for the first week than my bed. Good luck 😊

Subchrorionic haematoma

Had out first scan today at the hospital, saw the little heartbeat and measuring 6+4🥰
We also found out I have a subchrorionic haematoma, just wondering if anyone’s else has had or has one and if so was/is everything okay? We’ve waited so long and tried so hard for this baby and just worried. Booked in for another scan in a couple weeks but just curious
I work in a kitchen so my jobs very hands on which I know won’t help🙃

20 week scan call back

Had my 20 week scan last week and was told I have a low lying placenta with lots of scar tissue from previous c section. Was told I’d need to go back at 32 weeks for scan. Just received call from hospital saying consultant has reviewed scanphotos and needs to see me next week regarding placenta. Now I am STRESSED! Any ideas why they would call me back so soon and what it could be about ??!?

Advice please… 37+5

So since 1am I’ve had slight stomach pain not terrible just you know it’s there and a loose stool🙃woke my partner up saying think baby is on way but it hasn’t progressed to being any more painful just the pain is still there. So went back to sleep the pain is still there but more of an ache than contractions! So do you guys reckon this is a stomach bug or early labour? I feel silly like I should know as this is my 3rd baby but I only went in to natural labour with my first which was nearly 10 years ago😳was induced with my second

Waters being broken

I am 39+6 I have come into hospital as I have had some bleeding. I am also having contractions but I am only 1cm. I have been told I won’t be leaving the hospital without my baby and the plan is they are going to break my waters and put me on the hormone drip. Has anyone had this before or had waters broken and put on the drip?

Private room at Frimley park hospital/ park side

Hi! Has anyone stayed in a private room in park side or on the postnatal ward at FPH and know whether this is possible after a c-section? I found it really hard to relax or sleep for the 3 days I was there after having my son a few years ago because it was so noisy and busy, and would love a different experience this time 🤞🏻

C section or induction?

I’m 36 weeks pregnant with twins. Both babies weigh almost 6lbs and I’m a petite 5ft2 55kg woman - struggling to say the least!

Ive been told a VBAC isn’t advised as I’ve previously had a c section which means there’s a risk of uterine rupture so it’s best for a planned c section.

However, they’re now saying they can’t fit me in until the day before I’m 38 weeks pregnant OR they can offer me an induction next Thursday!??? This seems to be really contradictory of their advice and I’ve no idea what to do.

On the one hand I’m so uncomfortable I just want them out, I’m not sleeping. But on the other hand I don’t want a VBAC or emergency c section.

Any ideas on what to do?
