First time mum! Breech baby

I'm 36 weeks and baby boy is footling breech, therefore been advised to have a c section. This has not been booked yet but I have had a other scan booked for a couple weeks time and a "pr op" booked for 3 weeks time I'm confused as to what a pre op is. And I'm terrified of spontaneously going into labor and causing an emergency situation... I suffer with anxiety and my mind is allover the place eveything is so new to me

I LOVED my c section experience. My girl was Frank beech the entire time and i went into labor at 34 weeks. Pre op in the states is just checking blood work and going over details for surgery, they’ll just likely confirm babes position then too. Dont let the idea of a c section ruin the experience for you.

I’m in the same position as you. C-section been booked for 39+3 as they’ve said my baby won’t turn and they won’t attempt an ECV due to having a uterine abnormality. A pre-op is usually physicals obs height weight blood tests etc. I have mine two days before my c-section date

Speak to your midwife about your anxiety and worry. They might be able to book you in for c-section date .

I found out at 36 weeks that my baby was footling breech too so they booked me in for a c-section then straight away. So also confused of the pre op? Maybe to check baby has turned ?

I was also worried, but they told me to just call in as soon as I had pain or any signs that I would go into labour . I called a couple of times and got checked .

Managed to keep my baby in until my planned c- section at 39+2.

Having a planned c-section was a great experience. I wouldn’t change my birth for anything.

But yes I remember them saying to call as soon as my water broke if it did . Because then you would need an ambulance . They informed to avoid trying to pump any milk and sex . Because this can make your body go into labour .

Eghh I’m excited for you . Try not too worry (Easier said than done, I know) and speak to your midwife. They wouldn’t put you at risk ❤️

Much love to you mama.

Have a look at your options and trust your body - whatever happens 🤗

There was the optibreech project and MWs listed there (there was a lady called Shaun I wished I had known about when I was in your position) which you might want to look at and contact to feel you've seen all your options

A pre op is to assess your health and go through any medical history with you. They will take your blood pressure and other vital signs. They will prepare you for the surgery and explain the procedure to you, complications etc. They will also go through post operative care with you.

I work in surgery, not specifically C section but pre ops are generally the same with the differences being tied to the specific surgery. Hope this helps

My little one was footling breech at 32 weeks and at 36 weeks was complete breech, we tried a ecv at 38 weeks but was not successful and was booked in for a c section at 39+1. Turns out the section was already booked at my 36 week appointment and I wasnt told so finding out at 38 weeks was a total suprise. The pre op appointment was just to take bloods and to give you medication to take the night before and morning of the section.
My c section was a very calm and wonderful experience x

Age gaps and second baby advice 😅

Hello guys . I’m currently 11 months pp and I want some advice . Are you one and done and glad you made that decision ? Did you go for a second child and regret the decision (NOT THE CHILD) , did you decide to go for another and it was a smoother transition than expected ? I found my first baby extremely difficult especially the first 3 months we had tongue tie, colic , reflux , waking every 30 mins . She still wakes at night . I had bad anxiety especially with SIDS and also ppd which I never medicated for and now regret . I look back on the time and it’s just a blur until maybe 5 months onwards . I enjoy her so much more now that she’s older and I love being a mother . My husband constantly bring up more babies in the future but I genuinely don’t know if I could do it again . I also love maintaining myself and having some time for me when she naps but when I have two will I lose this time ? Can people share their experiences . Was a second child worth it ? What age gap was best ? I am deffo open to a larger age gap but not more than 5 years . But if it would make things easier then I could do it . I know 2 would be my absolute max children but I constantly go back and forth between one and done or two . The main reason is for her to grow up with a sibling especially as an adult I think it would be beneficial . At the end of the day it’s personal decision but advice and experiences would help a lot 💗💗💗

Contractions/ early labour advice

First time mum looking for advice!
I’m having contractions in my lower back and pelvic area, averaging around me 5-7 minutes apart and around 30 seconds long. I’ve had a sweep yesterday and lost my mucus plug.

Am I in early labour? 😅

Sort of wanting to just opt for an elective c section

Throughout my pregnancy and even before, I wanted to avoid a c section where possible. Im 40+2 today and after a really horrible interaction with a consultant pushing and railroading me in to an induction, im just kind of filled with doubt and fear. Something I haven't felt until now.

I wanted to really try for a spontaneous natural delivery, but am totally open to pain relief, and interventions where necessary for baby's or my health and safety. But getting to this point now, with an induction date booked for 40+8 next week, im wondering if its just worth booking a c section and being done with it. I had my first sweep done yesterday and I was 2cm dilated but my midwife said my cervix was still closed. I have another booked for Tuesday.

I dont really know why im posting, solidarity, positive induction or c section stories or just some encouraging thoughts might be helpful from those on the other side or in the thick of things too.
