It would greatly depend on the situation. Because accidents happen.

If it was something that would have been avoided by better supervision then 1000%
If it was a genuine accident (ie car accident that's not their fault) that's different.

Emilie Kiser comes to mind. A preventable accident, but an accident all the same.
Lots of therapy and counselling etc might help to save the marriage, or it might end up simply being unforgivable and a source of resentment forever.

Honestly I don’t think I could say unless I was in this situation. I don’t believe anyone is perfect and it could happen to anyone. I don’t know how I’d be able to forgive myself more if it’s something I could have prevented though.
