Is anyone else struggling with letting their baby play on their own? I feel like, if my baby is awake, I should be in there playing with her the whole time. I feel guilty whenever I leave her to play and go do things for myself. Anyone else struggling with this? And she’s not crying or anything, just quietly playing on her own. I just feel so guilty. I know she needs to learn to be independent. 😭

Yeah I’m with you.
The way I TRY to see it is that sometimes even as adults we have to entertain ourselves and if we allow them to play themselves, they’ll do things that they probably wouldn’t do if we were there playing with them.

I love watching him explore on his own. How he tries new things and how he thinks (like putting things into other things and stuff). Just because you’re not playing with her doesn’t mean you’re not there supporting her. It’s incredible seeing them play on their own and watching them learn and grow.

No, independent play is fantastic for them! X

No i love it! He's always been an independent player and would come to me once bored or needs me to join him its good for them

Independent play is good for their development and creativity. There's an episode of Pop that Mumma podcast on this that I found useful x
