UC and childcare help question

Hi all. I need to increase my daughters childcare hours as I am going back to work (she currently only does two mornings a week which we pay for as only my daughter’s dad is working) but since it’ll be both of us working soon does that mean we can include childcare costs in our claim and that would be taken into account our monthly uc payments (to help pay for childcare) as without help there really isn’t any point in me working as nursery fees are expensive and I’ll literally be earning just to pay and cover nursery fees.

Yes you can add it to the claim and they will pay a certain amount toward childcare and you also might get the 30 free hours term time ☺️

Thank you for your reply! When do I add it to my claim? I have my start date confirmed but don’t start until a month time x

I think you can add it whenever as you submit what you spend monthly / weekly and they pay you back the next time you get paid

Stay at home mum after returning to work

I have returned from Mat leave since Feb and little man has just turned a Year old Monday. He has been ill since and very clingy to me. I only do 2 days a week and he’s with my MIL during that but I can’t help but feel like I now wanna be a stay at home mum. Someone tell me I’m not crazy for feeling this?😬

Juice and other drinks

My son has never had anything other than water or milk. He is now 2.5 and knows others drinks exist like juice, smoothies, milkshakes.

When did you start letting your little ones have other drinks?

I don’t want him to have juice all the time but I don’t want him to be deprived of it that he gets obsessed when he finally can make that decision.

Weaning

Hi all, my baby is almost 4 months old and I have seen lots of food pouches and baby rice in supermarkets which states 4m+

Has anyone actually given their baby any of these before the 6 month mark?? Thanks!

Baby led weaning

Anyone else started this? Started a week ago and my baby just does not want it! She’s desperate to eat what we have in front of her and reaches for our spoons and forks, but when it comes to trying foods I prepare for her like broccoli, sweet potato, baby porridge and avocado so far she just isn’t having it! She’s interested for 30 secs then pushes away.
I know its mostly for exploration at this stage, but should I be waiting a little longer if she’s really protesting it? She can sit unassisted and has stopped the tongue thrusting to is physically ready. Or do I keep going?

Husband coming to baby sensory classes

My husband wants to experience things with our daughter and likes to learn how to play with her so always comes with me to our baby sensory classes. He’s always the only man and a few mums there seem out off that he attends with us. Would you be bothered if a man came to a baby class (not specified that it’s just for mums but just what’s normal)
