Weaning

Hi all, my baby is almost 4 months old and I have seen lots of food pouches and baby rice in supermarkets which states 4m+

Has anyone actually given their baby any of these before the 6 month mark?? Thanks!

I wouldn't wean early unless under medical advice. I think they're supposed to be changing the packaging at some point anyway because the NHS guidance is to wait until 6m. I'd be wary of the pouches in general, they can be handy for convenience but they're not the healthiest, I made my own purées by cooking extra of every veg alongside our meals, blitzing then freezing in little tubs. A lot cheaper, not much effort and a lot healthier than the pouches.

I waited til 6mtnhs with our 1st but plan to trust my own judgement this time round, if baby has good head control and can sit up i will give tastes of food early from 4mnths x

Unsure teething

My little boy had rosy red really warm cheeks, his chest is a little warm & head a little warm, I've done his temperature and it's completely normal it's 37.4 at the highest so not classed as a temperature as it's not over 38.
He's quite fussy and has had badly disturbed sleep the last 2 nights. He's 10.5 months old & has his top 4 top and bottom teeth so 8 in total. I'm unsure as to whether he is teething his molars already as I know it can happen around 10-11 months where he already has 8 teeth.
Does this sound like teething? He's still having his morning and night time bottle and his 3meals with snacks during the day.
I'm unsure as he never had any issues teething with the first 8 teeth he got, we didn't even know they had come through until we saw them!

Any advice is helpful!
Thank you! From a first time Mummy who's struggling a little! X

Stay at home mum after returning to work

I have returned from Mat leave since Feb and little man has just turned a Year old Monday. He has been ill since and very clingy to me. I only do 2 days a week and he’s with my MIL during that but I can’t help but feel like I now wanna be a stay at home mum. Someone tell me I’m not crazy for feeling this?😬

how many kids would you have IF

-you're with the right person, who is already a parent and to your judgment a VERY good one
-you're financially stable, not actually needing to work
-a maid/cleaner who comes 3x week
-a personal chef who cooked everyday
-a trusted nanny who could take care of your baby/ other kids a couple of hours on weekdays and every weekend
-a big house
-a village

Scared and at my wits end

My daughter is 21 months and is a major climber. Today my husband was watching her while I slept in and he came running in saying she grabbed my meds and somehow opened it and spilled it all over the ground… these meds are highly toxic to toddlers. So I immediately got up and checked her mouth and each pill making sure she didn’t put any in her mouth and that every one was picked up. These meds were up on a counter in a bin.. how tf did she get to it. Apparently she climbed onto the couched reached out to the counter pulled the bin down. Thank god she’s okay and didn’t inject anything but it was scary. And a big reminder to lock these things. But also I’m so tired of chasing her around and stopping her from climbing. I’ve had to removed so much furniture because she will find a way to climb it or hang on it.. I will bring her down and say we stay off over and over again and it doesn’t matter… she will go right back and do it again. I will raise my voice and try to make eye contact. Doesn’t faze her. Idk what to do. My family says I should spank her but I can’t.

Baby led weaning

Anyone else started this? Started a week ago and my baby just does not want it! She’s desperate to eat what we have in front of her and reaches for our spoons and forks, but when it comes to trying foods I prepare for her like broccoli, sweet potato, baby porridge and avocado so far she just isn’t having it! She’s interested for 30 secs then pushes away.
I know its mostly for exploration at this stage, but should I be waiting a little longer if she’s really protesting it? She can sit unassisted and has stopped the tongue thrusting to is physically ready. Or do I keep going?
