Baby shopping panic

I’m due in August and i still need to get quite a lot of things im starting to panic abit that i wont be able to afford everything in time. What should i do? I’m sending my maternity grant form off next week for the car seat, isofix etc then its nappies, bottles, dummies, wipes, socks, bath products, nail care, bath, bedding, swaddle/sleeping bag etc. I only have about £100 a month for all of this stuff is it doable? And like how much should I bulk buy of things like wipes/nappies etc?

The only thing you need brand new is the car seat as they don’t recommend buying second hand. Joie is quite a good brand and Tesco sometimes do car seats in the club card offer. We got our next to me from there too. Everything else you can get from Facebook marketplace or vinted. Aldi do good bulk boxes of wipes, and Sainsbury’s nappies we have found really good and are super cheap (around £2 for a big pack). You don’t really need bath products like baby wash etc for the first couple of months as their skin is too sensitive and they don’t get dirty as such, so just water is fine. We got an angelcare bathseat from marketplace for £5. On vinted you can get bundles of clothes which are good. We found you don’t actually need that many as you just tend to dress them in the same thing.
It’s definitely doable, it’s just about shopping around I think! Good luck with it all!

I bought so many things pregnant, and after realise that I dont need half of them. Normally everyone around you buy clothes for the baby, that means I have not spend money buying clothes.
Nappies I have not bought a lot, and they are cheap like Aldi ones, I have no problem with them.
Wipes I have bought on amazon bundle and it is cheap.

Bath too hot?

I feel horrible, my baby is 4 months old and she usually likes her baths. And I’m usually good at reading the temperature before I put her in, but this time I feel like I wasn’t. She was ok initially but then all of a sudden as I was cleaning her hair she because fussy and her face changed. Then she because upset and wanted to move out of her bath seat. So I quickly picked her up as the crying got worse and her skin was hot. I then laid her on her mat to soothe her and let her cool down. She is ok now and back to her smiley self but I feel horrible knowing I put her in and it was too hot for her!!! ☹️☹️☹️

Little one cries when my husband holds him

Our son is just over 5 weeks old, and for the past 2–3 weeks he cries almost every time my husband holds him. The only position he seems comfortable in is the “football” hold, but he won’t nap that way.

It’s becoming really stressful for both of us. I feel like I can’t properly nap, get ready, or let my husband settle him during the night without him crying, and I know it’s upsetting for my husband too. What makes it harder is that our son is happy and naps being held by other family members.

Is this something other parents have experienced, and does anyone have any advice or solutions that helped?

Cradle cap?

Did anyone help this come off babies head or just let it fall off naturally?

Tantrums, screaming etc.

Hi ladies,

I am sure this topic is well known amongst all of us so I will to the chase.

I have 18 month old that behaves like an absolute ass 😂 crying over anything, lays on the ground, sometimes screams for over 30mins, I tried talking, shouting, tv, nothing.. how do I deal with this and how do I get him to calm down 🥲

Husband wants us to switch from breast to formula

My husband thinks that my breast milk isn’t good for the baby and that he’s wanting to eat too much and our first son drank formula. And he was such a good quiet barely cried baby. And this one had some bad baby acne it’s not that bad now but he’s still not even q month and I told him that happens but he brings up how our first had nice smooth skin. But I don’t think it has anything to do with the milk maybe more like each baby is different ? And he keeps referring to my milk as “poison” and it’s making me think it might be that? Any opinions on someone who did both ? And noticed any behavior changes ?

Does it drive you crazy wheb someone is talking on the phone using earbuds instead of holding the phone to their ear or on speaker?

It looks like they are talking to themselves at first.
