Prep for recovery/ recovery kits

Is there anything that you would recommend buying to prepare for the recovery e.g. support band, scar patches?
Anything else you found helpful?

Thank you!

Honestly, you don’t need much at all.

Nice comfy full brief cotton knickers to be cozy and let the area breathe.

Pain management plan and alarms to take meds on time and avoid pain the first week.

Stay mobile to improve recovery.

Lots of snacks and a full fridge.

I found a fan useful as I get hot and sweaty as the theatre meds wear off for an hour or two.

Press a pillow to your recovery area when moving, laughing, sneezing, or coughing.

If you can get a hold of a shower chair for your home that helped me.

NHS provides you with postpartum pads and disposable underwear while you’re there, but i’d recommend getting some for home. i wasn’t a fan of the ones i bought or that the hospital had either because the fabric kept catching on the incision, prioritise high waist and soft, breathable material

C section

Hi ladies I'm 29 weeks and recently also have gestational diabetes and on metformin. No one has spoken to me yet about the c section or the plan for it. Just to be clear I'd wanted a c section anyway and that was my preference. When does this usually happen? My midwife seems to be part time and weeks go by where no one comes back to my queries.

Party advice

My 7 yr old is supposed to be at a birthday party of her class mate at 1pm today. She is being really tearful and quite angry and now refusing to go which I think she’ll regret later. What do I say to the parent? Some of the other parents maybe judgemental if I told the truth. Thanks in advance X

14 hours of contractions

I’ve had 14 hours of contractions since 9pm last night, have not slept, they last for around 1 minute and every 8min or so. I called triage and they said not to come in until it’s 2-3 min apart. How can it be 14 hours already of this? Is this normal? Each contraction is intense! My first baby.

Any success stories

So I’m 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I went for a scan on Thursday and there was a fetus but no heartbeat is this possible they said to me I’m going through a missed miscarriage but how can they go off one scan? It’s measuring at 8.1mm and they said at this gestation there should be a heartbeat has anyone been through anything similar
