Ok so out with my 2.5 year old, my sister and 2 friends. Sister has my kid and has him sitting on the table facing her. I warn her to remove her glasses or he might grab them. She doesn't listen.
A few minutes later he grabs them and throws them and they go over the balcony and dissapear from view. There where 2 or 3 levels below us. She immeditately got angry and said I owe her a new pair. I refuted that. My friends watching on. I feel humiliated.
We finish lunch and briefly attempt to find them but can't.
My sister again says I owe her glasses.
Who is responsible for getting her new glasses?
I likely will anyway but am just curious so going forward I know.

I would say it’s on you to keep it from happening, but you warned her and she ignored you so it’s on her. Yes you can offer to get her glasses, but it’s not your fault and your child is just testing cause and effect. It’s not the child’s fault

He is a baby! You gave her a warning (more than i would have done unless i saw my baby doing it constantly BUT I would say that it is on her since she acted so childish about it, honestly i would not have ever expected my girls to do that when they were 2 and 1/2 BUT I have honestly seen my kids do things I wouldn’t have EVER expected!!! So the fact you saw that the glasses were going to be an issue and she ignored you makes it so she should be the one getting herself a new pair….
