Why are in laws so difficult? Yet my parents dont cause any bother to my partner!

Is it ever the father in law? Or always just the female inlaws

I feel like it narrows down to boomer boy moms

It’s so sad I wish I could have a good relationship with my MIL but she’s lowkey unhinged, my parents have been nothing but supportive and understanding

My OHs mum is just BORING! she doesn't do anything, have anything to say, she's in a wheelchair but her life before that was no different. She just sits and watches shit TV, does her shopping online. I can't be arsed tbh...I tried to get her to come places but she straight up says "no, I can't go I'm in a wheelchair" I swear she thinks the world is completely inaccessible

It’s off and on. I just have vastly different opinions on child care and what I do with my son. They really like to talk about my parenting decisions and even my weight loss/ appearance after pregnancy. ( lost too much at one point due to hormonal imbalance and adjusting to breast feeding) we never got along well after that. My husband moved out after we got married and never looked back.

UK families - how much is your weekly shopping?

Even better if you can tell me how many people it feeds in your household.
Our food alone is about £90-£100 for a week, but then I go to cheaper shops for cleaning supplies, snacks for the kids, fruit ect and I think that’s where I keep over spending.
But then I do have two toddlers who just eat so so much fruit.

Whos looking after your LOs while in labour?

Just collecting some thoughts! I've only ever had my mum for childcare, and she's travelling when I'm due, so I'm wondering what alternatives people are using for childcare for the existing little ones when you're due your next! We'd book a babysitter but not sure if we could just call a sitter last min when the baby's decided to arrive!

Thank you :)

Meals

I have no idea what I’m supposed to be feeding my 9 month old. I look online and it’s recipes with loads of ingredients and I don’t wanna spend hours in the kitchen when it’ll probably end up on the floor. Any ideas for normal meal ideas

failure

took my child out of nursery, due to the place being absolutely awful and feeling my child wasnt safe there but now im being told to not send my child to any nurseries and wait til starts school when 4, got just under a year. BUT I feel like such a failure of a mother, not providing my child with social interactions and not making friends, family and friends with children dont really both with us either. am I a bad mum for not trying to put my child back into a nursery or should I just wait it out and keep teaching my child myself and get them ready for school?

Anyone started giving solids yet?

Hey all! My daughter is 5 months and I just gave her her first portion of food last night.
It was 2 small potatoes, 1 carrot, 30ml of breastmilk - pureed.
She ate about 1/3 of it, and was super excited to do so lol.
So Im planning on giving her that every night before bedtime from now on for at least a week.
Any one else started yet?
Any recipes to recommend?
