Small baby

I had my 31 week scan today and was told that my baby is on a small side. I didn't worry about that at all tbh as my husband was born small too so maybe runs in a family. I also had all tests for any genetical issues but all were negative.
Maternity Unit was really good they checked baby's heartbeat and set another scan in two weeks time.
I felt reassured, but now I started doing some research and reading (I know, not the most clever thing to do) and I'm now worried.
Should I worry? Or is it still early?
He has been moving a lot today and oh I get the most awful Braxton Hicks fairly few times a day .. ...

I read today that 6/10 growth scans done at later stages are wrong about sizing. I would take what they say with a pinch of scrutiny.

I’m 32+5. Our baby has measured small since 20 week scan, fluctuating a lot from 8th centile, 30th, and back down to 17. We have extra scans and monitoring but to be honest, they can be off by 20% either way.

Our baby is otherwise healthy with lots of movements too. I spent so long worrying, reading and dreading the next appointment, and have just decided them keeping a closer eye on me and baby can’t be a bad thing!

I very much know it’s easier said than done, but try not to worry too much, it shouldn’t ruin our experience!

Hello 😊 My baby is on the small side too and that’s okey 😊 some babies are just petite 🥰 nothing you said sounds like you should be worried! They would tell you if your baby would be too little but measuring on the small side does not mean something is wrong!

I got told my second was on the smaller side (they even talked about bring her early if things didn't change) she was born at 39 +3 weighing a good 6lbs 13oz (same weight as my first) she's still very much a petite baby, she never had a chunky phase like her brother but she's perfectly healthy, I don't think they always get it right with size and really is just a guess

I was told my baby was measuring small & might need to be induced because I had reduced movement my whole pregnancy (never o poo properly felt her, think I only felt her once), I didn’t end up being induced, just had a s&s at 2cm & my daughter was born at 6lbs6oz- small but not alarmingly, I know people who delivered later than me (I had her at 39+4) & their babies weighed a lot less & were they were healthy & fine when born! Try not to worry too much !!

Just abit of reassurance: my little boy was born in Feb at 4lb 1 at 36w, he was on the 0.4 centile. There was nothing wrong with him, and no answers as to why he was a small boy (my first was a big baby). He’s now 12w old and after a rocky start with his weight, he’s thriving. There were no reasons to his weight, all babies just grow differently a lot of the time! x

Back pain and induced labour

Just had my 34 week midwife appointment (been referred for an urgent scan as baby is measuring a little too big) but, my midwife has suggested advocating for a induction from 37 weeks due to my severe back pain. I have scoliosis and struggling to leave the house without being in excruciating pain. I’m not completely against the idea but want to hear opinions of others on induction! Please nothing too scary :( x

Does anyone have quick fixes for insomnia?

I’m sleeping 2-3 hours a night, and not even in one stretch. I don’t want to take sleeping pills atm because I struggle getting up the next morning and either need to do the daycare run early or look after my 3yo. Meditation isn’t helpful for me, and I already don’t use my phone/TV before bed, I read instead. We’re going away this weekend and I’d like to be able to enjoy, so literally any tips to sleep, unhinged or not, please help lmao

Is surgery and recovery from a planned csection is better than an emergency one or the same?

Elaborate if you want. I had an emergency cs with my first and an emergency cs with my second after a failed vbac. I want a third baby and its gonna be a planned cs (i dont think any doctor would let me do a tolac again) so i was wondering if the experience is different/better. Thanks
