As a mother of nonverbal kids I need y'all with verbal kids to know that our babies are being abused at school.

Every other day there is something. A mom put a camera in her son's braids and caught a teacher choking him and calling him the n word. Poor baby couldn't speak but she knew something was up. There were multiple autistic kids in a school being taken to a basement and stripped naked.

I hope you teach your kids if they see something to say something to you because not everyone's babies can.

This is so terrifying! I know my kids would speak up if they ever seen anything but they are homeschooled. My epileptic nephew was in the autistic support room while in public school and they treated him so terribly that he refuses to even go play on the school's playground after hours, he won't even get out of the car to attempt to play there because he was always getting yelled at. Now that my sister pulled him out and homeschools, the local district recently boasted online about how it took the autistic support group on a fun outing/trip, not once had he ever gone on a trip in the 2 years he was in that school. They just flat out could not handle my nephew with his autisim and defiant disorder and wanted my sister to consistently change his meds for his ADHD. They thought just because he was verbal that he wasn't truly autistic despite his diagnosis and brain damage from a hemmorage when he was an infant. šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ™ƒ I'm so glad she's able to homeschool him. He is doing so well now! šŸ’•

Yeah like I have worked in the special ed classes at my school and none of those things are happening. That is down right awful I hope that school gets shut down or those people get fired

That's so evil & disturbing 😳

This is a lesson I learned myself as a kid in elementary school, there was a nonverbal child who my teacher would shut in this tiny storage closet attached to our class and turn the lights off on him as punishment. As a child I didn’t really have a grasp on how wrong it was but I still felt strange about it so I told my mom and she flipped out and called the school. I always tell my kids to let me know if something they see feels wrong even if it’s a grown up doing it, especially if it’s a grown up

I facing this situations bad to wear my child has try to take his own life an has told me multiple times he wished he was in heaven already

That’s horrific. I can imagine kids who are non-verbal have a tendency to not be treated well even in public settings by other adults because they can’t advocate for themselves and that is also a very sad thought.

Temp for bed time

Currently stressing as it’s 25 degrees in baby boys bedroom what’s the best thing to sleep him in? Also if anyone can recommend anything I can use to cool the room down it would be appreciated willing to buy anything.

As a mom how late do you sleep in everyday? I am up by 6am every day but my sister and her toddler and older child don’t get up until 11am every day

I find her schedule to be a bit jarring and lacking structure but she thinks it’s fine. I’ve never met another mom with a young child sleep that late every single day but maybe I’m wrong for worrying which I’m open to hearing. I think I’d be less worried if she was more active but she is not. I’m not judging to be mean. I love her and am worried. I think it may be hormonal but I don’t want to hurt her feelings when I bring this up. Thank you

2nd pregnancy guilt.

So I have just found out I’m pregnant again. My boy will be 2 years and 8 months when new baby is due.

I was really excited to tell my very close family in a few days however, this evening one of them has made a few comments that have left me feeling so guilty and bad.
Basically they have a newborn and were saying how hard it must be to have a newborn and a toddler close in age, how the toddler would need to ā€˜grow up really quickly’ wouldn’t get any time with the parents at all because of the newborn and how they just don’t know how people could do it.

This has made me feel so guilty and bad! I was looking forward to sharing the news in a few days now I don’t even want to.
Am I overthinking and speaking from hormones?
Anyone else been through similar? Please comment. Thank you so much

Stopping formula

Hiya! My son is just over 8 months and is on 3 meals a day, I had to start weaning at 5 months as he’s a hungry baby šŸ˜‚ He has a bottle when he wakes up and one before he goes to bed. But when should I stop formula and just give whole milk?

My mum made me stop breastfeeding and I resent her for it

My mum has never breastfed her children and I always felt like she was judging me for choosing to breastfeed my baby. She would always raise her eyebrows whenever I did it and would make comments about how you can’t be in an equal relationship if the mother is breastfeeding, she would say « I don’t understand women who accept to take on all the feeding burden, it’s so archaic, can’t they realise that fathers can help too Ā», and she would say that breastfeeding was anti feminist and all these sorts of things.

It was hard feeling that she wasn’t supporting my choice and that she was thinking less of me because I was breastfeeding my baby, as if I wasn’t a strong and independent woman anymore.

Then, my husband had a bike accident and broke both his leg and arm, needless to say he was not able to help at all with the kids, so my mum moved in with us because I couldn’t cope. She then put a lot of pressure on me to stop breastfeeding, like twice or three times a day she’d asked « when are you going to stop this nonsense?Ā Ā», she would say that it had ruined my boobs and that I would never lose the pregnancy weight while I breastfed.

And I hate myself because I gave in to her pressure and I quit breastfeeding in order to stop feeling like my mum looked down on me. I’m so embarrassed to admit that as a 36 year old woman, I was still behaving like a little girl seeking her mums approval, pathetic I know.

And I have stopped breastfeeding for a month now and I am still so so sad about it, I can’t really get over it, it’s as if I miss my baby, which is ridiculous because I’m on mat leave so I’m with her 24/7, but it’s as if something was gone forever and I don’t know how to stop being so upset about it.

I’m also now so resentful towards my mum. I told her so and she said that I was a grown up woman, responsible for my own choices. She’s right of course, but I’m so mad at her - as well as mad at myself. I feel like I made this decision 3 months post partum because I was fragile and stressed and under-slept but I just wish I had been able to stand up to her.

I know my family is complete so I know I’ll never breastfeed again, and it’s almost as if I was mourning something.

Does any of this sort of make sense ?
