4 month old only have 3 bottles a day

Hi, my 4 month old is only averaging 3 bottles a day of 210mls a day. So only have 630mls in 24 hours. He sleeps all the way through the night, normally going to bed around 8.30ish and waking between 9/10am. I’m a little worried as it’s on the low end of the milk he’s supposed to be having. He was having good weight gain last time I checked (we have HV booked in for next week) any tips at how to get another bottle in him during his waking hours?

If weight gain is good then it's all good! And congrats on having good nights! Enjoy it xx

Might just be going through a phase. My little girl is almost 4 months and she was averaging around 900-1000 per day during a growth spurt and has dropped to 800-900 on average but eats smaller amounts more frequently. She was premature by about 4-5 weeks, but she’s gaining weight well, just still feeding every 2-4 hours.

I’d just speak w gp/health visitor if you’re really concerned and ask for weight check. They may be able to recommend something if needed, but I’d def not force feed if he’s not wanting.

As others have said, if the weight gain is good then bubs is happy with what they’ve got! Please also remember that because your baby was premature, the HV will go off their ‘corrected age’ not actual age. So they’re more like a 3 month old than 4 month.
My baby was 4 weeks premature and we found that her feeding pattern matched a month behind her actual age until very recently (she’s just turned 6 months)
Your baby could also be like mine, a ‘meal’ baby rather than snacky. They get all of the milk they want at meal times and quite routinely rather than smaller, more frequent snack bottles.
Just go off the hunger ques, if they want more they’ll definitely let you know!

Help! What do I do in this heat!

Our bedroom is reading at 26.7 degrees and worried about baby sleeping in the room. We have the curtains and windows closed during the day and a fan and air con unit running but it’s still way too hot. Really worried about SIDS. Any advice?

Nursery not offering breast milk

My little girl is 9 months and still breastfed. She started at nursery last week and I sent expressed milk in bags as previously discussed with the nursery and they said it would be fine. She picked up a cold at her settling in sessions the week before so was under the weather all week. The first couple of days they tried to give her milk but she only took a tiny amount. On Thursday she was dropped off at 7.30am and picked up around 3.15pm and nursery don’t seem to have even offered any milk in that time as the bags were untouched. She was very hungry when she got home and had several oz from a bottle (from her dad who picked her up). Is this normal/ok?! She definitely would have had multiple feeds in that time if I’d been with her, but I’m worried they didn’t even try to feed her!

Prep machines?

I’m currently switching over from breastfeeding to formula and I’m debating getting a prep machine.

I’m using Kendamil which is measured in ml, and the prep machines water is in oz which is slightly different to ml. Has anyone had any issues with this or does it not affect the baby?

How many bottles should we be giving our babies?

I have a 9 month old and he has a bottle at 7am,12pm,4pm and then bedtime 7:30pm, so 4 a day. He has solids throughout the day and is happy with it but i dont know if im meant to be giving him less bottles and more food or just keep it the way it is.

Own room at 5 months

Baby is now 5 months and sleeps in her next to me. My bedroom is in the loft and it’s currently 30 degrees in there and very hard to cool down and I don’t have a big fan. Could I put her in her own room in her cot for the night with the monitor? There’s no room for me to sleep in there too

Baby carriers

Can anyone recommend a baby carrier that works well with C-section? I’m due my c-section in 2 weeks and not really sure what’s the best way about things - carrier, sling… not going to get to a sling library before hand so would appreciate advice for a first time mum!
