Heatwave hell 😭
I am really struggling in this heat. I’m melting. My 6 week old won’t sleep off me, won’t sleep on me, will fall asleep in a carrier but then I’m sweating and he’s uncomfortably hot. My toddler is misbehaving and is rejecting me. He is struggling without my attention. My littlest wants no one but me. The house is a shit hole cos nothing is getting done with the mayhem going on. I am not having a good time. Anyone else’s April baby struggling??
Oh we’ve also got illness galore. I have nipple thrush, bubs has oral thrush, I have a cold and I think my first period has arrived despite breastfeeding (didn’t with my first). My eldest has ringworm, a cold and cough, skin infection in his nose and conjunctivitis. He’s been back to back unwell for the last 5-6 weeks. Honestly it’s been never ending

Sounds really really rough for you, I dont wish this kind of chaos on anyone . My 6 week old is the same, just really really fussy. I managed to get him down after his morning feed today but he's sleeping on his play gym, I just left him there because not risking waking him up. I can totally relate to the house being a shit tip. I want to clean and tidy sooo bad and I hate that feeling that I can't! I should be doing some of it now. But thought I'd quickly reply to your post because 100% i get it 🥵😴x

I’m also not having a good time, you’re not alone in that! Baby’s a misery guts on a good day, this is just a nightmare x
Oh darling you’re really going through it! I think the heat heightens everyone’s emotions. My 2yr old has been so badly behaved since the heatwave which is so unlike him. I think tensions are high and no one is getting any sleep. My April baby is constantly breast feeding on me which is sticky, exhausting and also making my eldest feel left out! Also, why do they want to contact nap on you the entire time in this heat 🥲 I saw some here about putting a cool, damp muslin between you and baby so cool you and them down during contact naps. I haven’t had a chance to try yet but will be giving it a go!

I just had a major meltdown. We went out early (10am) with our 4yo and baby to the park and planned to leave at midday to beat the heat but omg my LG was sooo hot even in the shade , she hadn’t done a wet nappy in hours and just so floppy so I was like we need to go home! It proper scared me, I thought she was super dehydrated. It’s hard with breastfeeding cos I worry she’s not getting enough and I have to wake her for extra feeds in this heat 🙈 I’ve stripped her to her nappy and she’s sleeping again. X
