Heat

Anyone else’s baby completely knocked out with this heat?

I don’t know if it’s normal or not but my little boy was asleep for 1.5 hours earlier before. Then he woke up for his bum done (only 1 wee in the nappy after 3 hours) and bottle so he was awake for a total of 40 minutes and then he’s fell asleep and has been asleep for 2.5 hours as that’s him out for the night but he hasn’t had a wet nappy in 3 hours. His nappy is still bone dry and he had a 7oz bottle right before he went back to sleep.

He has also been extremely whingy today with squealing and crying constantly.

Is this normal? I don’t remember it being like this with my daughter in 2024 when it was really hot weather.

My twins are exactly the same! My boy was going through the 4 month sleep regression and since the heat come his slept non stop . It’s proper knocked them both out😩 I feel like they ain’t drinking as much either which is making me super paranoid 🫠

My daughter has been sleeping most of the day too!! She’s turned 4m today and usually only sleeps 30 mins at a time, but has had hours of naps today… wonder if she’ll have a terrible night because of it 😅

Just keep offering it him, hopefully he’ll eventually drink it🤞🏽 if not just keep an eye and speak to either a doctor or health visitor especially if it’s been long and for you own piece of mind too🩵 xx

Effects of heat - is this normal?

It's 30 degrees where I am. My 8 month old is in just a nappy, there's a fan on (not pounting at my daughter), and the door is open. She woke up at 4 am and ended up sleeping in our room as it's cooler until 06 30.

She's extra tired and cuddly (has already slept 2.5hrs today and she's asleep on me again) - is this normal in this kind of heat?

She's eating normally and no concern about wet nappies (I think her top teeth are about to cut though)

Water play mat!

This is excellent for keeping little ones cool and entertained while promoting time on their tummies! I picked it up cheap online. Highly recommend! My little boy loves watching the fishes and other sea creatures float by inside and I think he appreciates the cool water on his belly and arms! He’s usually bad with tummy time but likes it with this 💜

Single mums

My baby is 10 weeks old and me and my fiancé are struggling, he’s constantly blaming me for things, saying I don’t give him much love and he feels worthless, I feel emotionally worn down and unlike myself, I’m being referred for postpartum depression/anxiety, he dismiss’ my mental health even though he struggles with both, he has adhd and can get very angry and swearing around the baby, we had a huge argument where I left in the middle of night to go to my mums because he was also slamming doors, I think he’s been trying to meet other women, he says as friends but it just seems to be regularly, he doesn’t take much accountability, I’m scared of losing my baby (shared) and myself.

Any other single mums have any advice on their experiences and how they cope being a single mum and if anyone’s left their partner when their baby is young. We are also due to get married next year. I just don’t want to leave but also don’t want my son growing up in an unhealthy environment.

Yoto or toniebox?

Hi ladies I have a 13 month old and lately I’m feeling guilty that he is having a bit too much screen time! I find myself having to put it on when I need to get stuff done/ get ready for work/ or just have 5 minutes! At first he would still play and it would be just on in the background but now when it’s on he’s just glued to the screen! I have to also put it on whenever I change his nappy because soon as I lie him Down he just rolls over which makes nappy changing rather difficult ! Someone mentioned a toniebox so had a look and I’ve seen some good reviews, but I’ve also seen people mention a yoto box! Just wondered what people’s thoughts were ? Thanks x

Latching when breastfeeding

Hi girls, I am a first time mum to my 2 week old and I’m trying my hardest to exclusively breastfeed but she doesn’t latch properly all the time. I know she can get a good latch as we have achieved it previously however most times she will not latch and it will hurt me. My other issue is that she will not latch with a bottle either when I offer one! Any advice or tips to help with latching would be so appreciated xxx
