My daughter finished Kindergarten last week and then we got a DIBELS assessment in the mail this week. She didn’t do good on the DIBELS assessment she scored in red in all areas. Her report cards were good and she got proficient or mastery on everything so I am confused. I think she just had a bad day when she did the testing since when I work with her she does good in those areas but sometimes she isn’t in the head space and she melts down. I already had a plan to work on reading and other subjects during the summer to get her ready for first grade but should I be concerned about this assessment? I can’t really ask the teacher since school is out and nothing about the DIBELS assessment was mentioned before.
Did anyone else’s kindergartener get a DIBELS assessment?

Our school system does the DIBELS 3 times per year. Or at least my kindergartener did this past year so that you can compare and see the progression every few months. Did they only take it once?

My daughter was also assessed three times this year. The last report included scores for all 3. Beginning, middle, and end of the year scores.
I only remember seeing the one from the end of the year. I don’t remember it being mentioned at the parent teacher conference. I will double check the report card folders for the other ones. When did you receive the 1st one?
