Can anyone give any advice or just let me know I’m not alone…
I am 21weeks pregnant and SUFFERING with insomnia. I have spoken to my midwife and GP and they have not offered any solutions. Also being told it’s ‘normal’ hasn’t helped 😅
I am SO tired at this point my emotions feel even more heightened so going to work is becoming even more difficult and I just feel like I’m alone in this…

Following as I’m
33 weeks and the same

I had this really bad and restless legs, I found I would be able to sleep half the night on the sofa then the rest in bed. Don’t know why but it helped abit x

This was me, I could easily fall asleep on the sofa watching telly, but would be up all night in bed. Then I would be tired all day and have no problem sleeping during the day.
I ended up leaving work early (not because of the sleep) and then I basically just became a night owl

I've had a difficult relationship with sleep for a lot of my adult life and in pregnancy it gets significantly worse! One thing tnat does definitely help me personally is avoiding all screens (phone / TV) for at least 1 full hour before I try to go to sleep. I currently spend my last hour before going to sleep sitting in bed listening to an audio book (just finished siobhan miller's hypnobirthing book which I listened to in my first pregnancy as well). I also sometimes listen to hypnosis tracks on YouTube that are designed for sleep anxiety before bed. It doesn't always work and some nights are better than others but I notice a significant difference on the days that I do this vs days that I don't. X

All I can suggest is keep a routine for bed. Try to have a calm down time for your brain about 1 hour before hand. Put your phone down, TV off and read a book or something. Winding your brain down can help. Then even if you dont sleep close you eyes and tell yourself a story and see what images if any pop up. If you dont sleep at least youre entertained by your imagination and it can help trick your brain into sleeping
