my little girl is 2 and is on the pathway for getting diagnosed with autism , i feel like there’s a lot of pressure on potty training and she starts nursery in september she absolutely hates nappy changes or getting dressed it ends up in full blown meltdowns multiple times a day so i wanted to give potty training a go but i just don’t know where to start as she’s my first , she doesn’t speak or follow commands etc

We made it a game- and set the bathroom up in a way he liked being in there- it honestly happened more naturally as he he got older- he sleeps in a pull up sometimes but majority boxers and training underwear - invest in training underwear for her too you git this momma potty training has no time limit my nephew was in a pamper until he was a my sons 4 its a spectrum and youre doing wonderful

He was 6*

My son is mostly nonverbal and we were able to pee potty train. He is 4, we started at 3. Still working on poop but we’re getting there.
We went pantsless and utilized a potty chart with stickers and going every 15 minutes to start! It worked well.

We tried to give it a go at that age too and he just wasn’t ready. Sometimes he would sit on the toilet and nothing would happen, rarely he’d actually pee, but then he just stopped willingly sitting on the toilet and became averse to it so we stopped for a while because I didnt want to pressure him.
He goes to ABA therapy and they started a potty training routine earlier this year at age 4, as he was finally showing signs of readiness.
