I’m 36+4 and at my midwife appointment I foolishly forgot to ask if I can start colostrum harvesting. I know I’m low risk so I shouldn’t have to worry about going into labour early. Also with my first child I started around this time and didn’t have any issues. Ideally I should clear it with them, but they’re closed on Monday so it’d be another 3 day wait. Do you think it’s safe for me to start today?

I would, they told me at 36 weeks that I can start collecting colostrum but I actually started trying to hand express a few days before.
I didn’t have any luck because it was awkward holding up a big heavy boob and trying to express it with the other hand so I’ve been using my pump on stimulation mode the last few days and I’ve managed to collect a little bit!

Yeah I started at 36 weeks with my medulla hand pump, it’s going well. One boobs more productive than the other though x

Start but dont stress if it doesn't happen! Im 38+2 and am still not managing to get any! My midwife said not to worry some women's dont come in until you have given birth x
