New mumma by c section

so my beautiful baby girl was born on Tuesday through c section. Due to me not dilating quick enough.
So I have some questions on like belly , swelling

So my feet are still really swollen is this normal? What’s everyone’s experiences when did it go down?

My belly this is probably gonna sound stupid but I just want to know. So I still look like I have a baby in there 😅 and I wondered what other mommas did to help the belly back to normal. Obvs I can’t go back to the gym yet so wondered what I could do in the meantime that’s safe whilst healing ?❤️‍🩹

Hey were you given compression socks? Its recommend to wear them a while to help with swelling and to prevent clots. I personally wore mine just over 2 weeks.

Belly wise it took a couple weeks for my belly to go down, im breast feeding and I believe they say it helps it go quicker but im ftm and only a month pp so not an expert just my experience xx

Wear a belly binder, it’s normal to be really “bloated” after having the baby. It will help a lot especially when you walk and move around. It helps you feel secure. Feet swelling is normal too. You have to buy compression socks and it will take care of it. Wear them day and night. They have to be knee high.

Buy the Frida mom belly binder it helped me so much. I was down to my pre pregnancy weight within two months.

Congratulations on your beautiful little lady 💘 your feet still being swollen is so normal, mine were swollen for like 2-3 weeks. I bought some compression socks in Boots to help and tried to keep them elevated when I could. Just keep doing those injections the hospital will have sent you home with to prevent blood clots! Your belly is also so so normal. I read it takes 6-8 weeks for your uterus to "shrink back to normal." But C Sections are different due to us being cut. It will take longer. But all so normal, enjoy your new baby and please rest 🙏🏼

The swelling is normal! I ended up having both my babies by c section in the end and both times I had elephant legs and feet 😂 just keep an eye that you don't have any lopsided swelling, so one side really swollen a lot more than the other, and check for warm patches as this could be indicative if a blood clot. As others have said wear your compression socks, hospital sent me home with a pair I had to wear for 10 days alongside the blood thinning injections.

As for the belly, it will go down by around 8 weeks, but be prepared that the shape of your belly is changed no due to the incision, when the scar heals it pulls the skin in so you can expect to have a little "shelf" but it sounds like you're into fitness so with less fat around the belly area this shouldn't be that pronounced.

With regards to exercise, do not do anything strenuous for at least 6-8 weeks as you risk rupturing the scar. Gentle walks is fine once you feel up to it but no lifting or core exercise! Good luck and congratulations 🥰

Trauma vent ahead

Honestly just need to vent..
I had my second girl almost 2 months ago via emergency c-section. Now it wasn’t life or death emergency but emergency in my situation. I chose to be induced at 39w2d, the epidural failed and I was only at 6cm. I was in immense pain, sobbing with every contraction. I honestly think she was stuck in my pelvis. I had a choice of either redoing the epidural, laboring to dilate more for 10-12 hours or have the surgery. Doctors were also worried about baby’s HR. I chose the surgery. It wasn’t ideal. All I can think of is staring at the ceiling tiles, waiting for my husband to be at my head, being extremely nauseous and feeling all the tugging and pulling. Now to today, I love watching medical dramas, but I just get and feel so triggered watching them now. It takes me back to the surgery and I can’t escape it. I hate it and idk what to do 😩😭
Ok vent over, thanks for reading if you did 🫶🏻

Would you move house 3 weeks post c section?

I’m having a c section on Thursday and my flat sale and onward purchase have dragged on and on to the point that if we don’t complete at 3 weeks post partum then our mortgage offer will expire and likely the chain will collapse.
Would you do it? It doesn’t sound fun at all. It would be a 2hr drive from where we live so we’d have to stop lots. We would use professional removers and packers so in theory I wouldn’t be doing anything myself, and could even check into a hotel with my mum to miss the whole thing.
I’m just scared from both an emotional and physical point of view that it’s a disaster waiting to happen.
Has anyone done it?!

Has anyone had this before?
Had my 38 week midwife app yesterday, and they are sending me for a growth scan next week because I’ve had an exessive growth in 2 weeks gone from being steady all pregnancy around the 10th percentile,

To straight near the 90th percentile in just 2 weeks! Anyone else had this?

Help!

I had my baby 26/02/26 and I’m still bleeding - it hasn’t stopped at all - GP are aware - I had a planned c-section due to problems in my pregnancy - they’ve requested for me to have a scan and they’ve told me I need to have a cervical smear done - I’m just wondering if anyone has gone through this and may have an idea what it could be?
TIA

What were the cravings with boys and girls

I'm 10+5 days and I'm craving chocolate so badly. I went off sweets and chocolate a few years ago and now I can't get enough. Currently eating Nutella from a jar. What were your cravings with boy and girl.
