My little one will be 2 on June 21st. She seems ready to potty training, tells me when she needs to poo/tells me when she's done a poo, can hold her urine for up a long time etc. The problem I have is I'm trying to bare bottom method and this morning she held her urine all morning and then started telling me she needed a wee and was saying ouch but wouldn't let it go on the potty, only letting a few drops out. She wouldn't go until I put her nappy on and it was a huge wee then! Does this mean she isn't ready? Or is there anything I can do to encourage her to wee on the potty? I try not to put any pressure on but just lightly reminding her that if she needs a wee wee to go on the potty etc. Any advice would be great, even if it's telling me she isn't ready. We are on day 2 of no nappy. I'm a FTM so feel like I'm going in blind 🤣

Children are ready at different stages only day 2 is push through and see but not scare her. Maybe line a potty with the nappy? Give it a week or two and if no improvement then revert back to nappies. Also try stories about potty training and videos about it. Take her to the toilet with you so she can see that it isn’t scary and even a few drops give praise :)

Same as above, try putting the nappy in the potty. Or I'd sit and hold hands with my little girl and sing a song to help take her mind off it. Then HUGE praise and 1 sweet when when she went, even if it was a few drops. She sounds ready, follow her lead

Just keep encouraging it gently without adding pressure. I found it helped my little one to show her and explain every step of what mummy does when she goes to the toilet and I read loads of books about it (usually while she was on the potty so she could link the two). Her favourites were "Lulu's loo" which is interactive and "I want my potty". She's also extremely good at holding her wee, it makes it so difficult at first, but it means in future less toilet trips and if she asks for a wee where there's no toilet she can hold it till you find one x
