Hi, 3 week pp from emergency c section with my 1st baby.
Noticing I have overhang (apron belly), does anyone have any tips to reduce this?...
Do belly bands/ shapewear help...?

I found that the only option for me would be surgery. I think everyone’s different 🥲

I would suggest giving your body more time to heal… you can continue using a band for your tummy/apron but outside of that I would wait. After, 2months or so maybe you can find a shape wear and do light exercises that focus on that area. Congrats.

Shape wear doesn't do anything to the actual overhang, like it won't push it back in long term.
Scar massage can help break down the scar tissue and loosen any tethering deep inside. But also, you're 3 weeks out from major abdominal surgery and have just grown a baby. Give yourself and your body some grace. There is still swelling from your surgery deep inside.

My partner put together some fitness plans for me for postpartum recovery from an emergency caesarean, he then made it into a free website to help other mums. The first phase of gentle recovery literally just focuses on things like pelvic floor exercise, deep breathing, etc and has three stages to slowly build up tot he next phase of postpartum recovery (also has three stages), then home exercise (also has three stages) which incorporates normal exercises and exercises that can be done with baby.
