Umbilical Hernia

My daughter has a granuloma coming out of her belly button. She has been eating, then pooping, then I go to change her and she scream cries, then the cycle starts all over for the last 4 hours. My husband just got home from work and is crabby from his day. I called the Drs office. We originally had a drs appointment Thurs to have it looked at but her crying and pushing her belly out is making it worse. The drs office said of it looks worse go to the ER but they also moved up her appointment to tomorrow at 10:30am. My husband said his boss is gonna be mad and I frankly don't care. We have a newborn baby and any time he tells his boss about drs appointments he gets mad. I'm so stressed out. Idk if she can wait until tomorrow. 🄺

This might sound silly but I would ask ChatGPT?

I would just take baby to ER to be safe. Don’t wait on dad to be on board if you feel something is wrong

If it's hard when you push down on it go to the er immediately.

My son has a very mild umbilical hernia. The Dr looked at it and said it was fine and that they generally heal by the age of 3. That said, if she starts vomiting, has a fever, it starts turning purple or blue, or if it’s hard when you push on it when she’s calm and not screaming, then she might require surgery. The redness is a little concerning, my sons is still very much the color of the rest of his skin, so definitely just keep an eye on it. Glad you have an appointment tomorrow! Your doctor will definitely give you guidance ā¤ļø

My son had this and our doctor was not concerned at all.. she recommended salt on it to reduce it in size. we did that and within days it was gone!

When did you all start baby sensory classes? My baby is nearly 8 weeks, but unsure if he’ll fully benefit from it yet?

Days out with school

My child is starting school in September and at the information evening yesterday the teacher and headteacher were proudly telling us all how they love to take the class out to museums/woodlands/beaches on their mini bus. My immediate instinct was panic cos I would never put my son in a car without using a car seat and he will still only be 4-5 in September, this is too young to travel without a car seat?! To me this isn't the same as getting a bus. A bus makes frequent stops and doesn't really get over 30mph. A minibus could be flying down the motorway at 70mph.

Am I overthinking this and overreacting???

I'd like to hear other thoughts, thank you

Urgent- Toddler behaviour specialist - anyone hired one / know someone that has?

Has anyone ever hired one of these toddler behaviour management specialists who come to stay for a few days to help you better learnt to manage tricky toddler issues you’re struggling with.

It’s not cheap. But I’m a solo parent no extended family and feel I’m so in the dark with the tantrums I’m both confusing my daughter and a third of the time loosing my patience. It’s got really bad my lack of feeling I can’t do this with no guidance I’m dreading spending time with her šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

She’s super smart (smarter than I ever was) but I don’t have the skills, the support network. The help. And I’m reaching breaking point. Starting to feel like if I don’t get some outsider help I’ll damage our relationship and these are the crucial years. I need it for both myself and her.

Has anyone used one of these professionals, knows someone that has?

Before I use our only holiday fund to book one I’ve spoken to. (They’re not cheap šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø). Can anyone help shed some or any light in if this is a waste of money or it helped someone you know who did this?

So anyway I hate my place I don’t like having people over bc of it and I’m afraid of being judged .. but I guess if he judges and leaves then he’s just not it ? Our apartment is super humble ! Window air conditioning units old floor heaters idk I’m just feeling self conscious so I was able to hold on to not having him over bc we hadn’t been intimate yet but we were this past weekend so now it just seems like why can’t he come lol am I tripping ? I want to be moved into a 2 bedroom by the holiday season this yr will start looking next month after I get a few things straightened out idk why I feel I have to be perfect but I do I’m 35 and he is 46 I’ve made bad choices and am picking up pieces and his life is very together! What do you ladies think am I tripping or would you be waiting to date ? I don’t want to miss out on the connection we have

Child maintenance let's talk!

My sons dad is granted to pay 115.68 each week going through child maintenance but we decided between us to go private and direct which he then went to 70 pounds I did agree as something is better than nothing.
I'm that reasonable when special occasions around the corner I don't expect any payments.
Today his contacted me saying he wants to lower it another 20 pounds which would leave me with 50 pounds each week which by the way I do use it for every day essentials like shopping and what the child needs.
I can't be only one that finds it cheeky this guy is trying to lower it more than 50% than it should be.
From115.68
Down to 70
Now wanting to pay 50
Each week he pocket 65.68
Do I go back through the child maintenance services or simply try stand on my boundaries and let him know I do think his taking the piss a little.
Child maintenance is only so high because he has 1 over night stay every 1 -2 weeks .
Which again he was granted weekends and never stuck to them either ..
I have mentioned if child maintenance is gonna lower he needs to be having more contact in that sense as that's how it would calculate on the services also
