Baby won’t sleep at night

nearly 5 month old just won’t settle for the night. We put him down around 10/11, he just doesn’t stay asleep for long at all. Maximin is like 30 mins then it’s a cuddle to get back to sleep, put him down then 5 seconds later he’s awake and I have to keep repeating this, eventually I just put him in bed with me where he sleeps a lot better but still stirs a lot. Need some advice I haven’t slept for what feels like forever..

How are the naps? Could be;
- he’s too tired and needs earlier bedtime
- quieter room
- darker room
- a sleep sack

Good luck x

How often do you and your partner have sex after having a baby? Specially if your baby is coming up to 1?

What would you do? (theoretical)

Your baby hasn’t slept for hours and hours and is clearly overtired. You’ve been trying to console them for so long you didn’t notice you’re overdue to change their nappy, and the whole yellow line has turned blue from urine. As you notice this, they fall asleep. Not a deep sleep, but asleep nonetheless. As you put them in their crib you notice their fontanelle has sunk about half a cm. You know if you change their nappy there’s a high chance it will wake them up, and they have previously refused feeds from exhaustion before. The nappy is pretty full but you don’t know what’s inside. There’s a chance you can only manage ONE of the following for the next few hours. WWYD?

Co sleeping

Do any of you guys co sleep with your babies? I’m a first time mom, and the crib never worked for us, my baby never slept in there right. The only way for my baby and us to sleep is baby sleeping in the middle. We practice safe sleep, have the whole bed gated so baby won’t fall. But I feel bad that baby isn’t sleeping by themselves. Any tips or advice to get baby sleeping by themselves? Or just stay to what I’m doing? As anyone been in the same position? And how long did baby stay on the bed?

Breastfeeding

I have a beautiful almost 3 week old daughter. During these past weeks I have tried breastfeeding, but it has been such a struggle which has also led us to formula feed and pump for top ups.

Latching is a struggle and when she does, feeding is very painful. She stays in each breast for about 20 minutes but barely gets any milk and is starving afterwards. Milk supply is not a problem, as I pump quite a bit of milk. The whole process is so painful that I am scared every time she wakes up for a feed.

We have an appointment for tongue tie in 10 days. I am hopeful that the procedure will help but I'm not sure if I can keep going like this for 10 more days.

Has anyone been through something similar? Has the tongue tie process actually helped? Is it better to keep going? I'm so close to giving up on breastfeeding and it makes me very sad.

Do you baby perfume on your babies/toddlers?

If so any recommendations? (UK)
Do you apply on their skin or just clothes?
