National 3 Peaks - 6 weeks pregnant

I have been training for the national 3 peaks for a friend with cancer with my husband, my dad and a few friends. I found out I was pregnant last weekend and not sure if this should affect my plans. I am still managing runs, however I definitely get a little more tired than usual. Fitness is good but don’t want to do anything irresponsible. Any suggestions or if anyone has completed something similar?

I think if it’s something you’ve been training for and not an activity you’re picking up brand new, you’re fit and healthy and it’s early in pregnancy I’d still go for it ☺️ I see women continue to run marathons and all sorts whilst pregnant, I’m a bit of a gym bunny and have carried on resistance training at least 3 times a week while pregnant.
You know your body and you’ll know if you need to slow down or take a rest 😊

It is hard to say. I cancelled mine as on the date I was going to be 16 weeks and I just expected the fatigue and stress will not allow me to do it over 24 hours with no sleep. I was also worried about my balance. I went to the gym at 7 weeks and ended up having bleeding. I was advised not to for few weeks and avoid physical and mental stress. Same happened at 13 weeks. At 17 weeks I ended up having a fall. I went on a hiking holiday for my bday at 17 weeks and was so out of breath I thought I would die. At this point my swelling was crazy. Personally I was glad I cancelled it.. but everyone is different. I used to hike weekly, lift 3-5 times a week and did hot yoga and vinyasa 3-5 times a week. I am 23 weeks and have barely managed 10k steps!

I’ve been climbing mountains my whole life, I did the National Three Peaks last year and it was incredibly hard when I wasn’t even pregnant. The travel is uncomfortable and the lack of sleep is difficult. I climbed Catbells, a fairly small mountain, when I was 20 weeks pregnant and it left me out of breath. How far along will you be for the event?

Everyone is different i trained for a marathon and still did it in the first trimester and got a PB. It was an amazing experience and something ill be able to tell my daughter we did together when she is old enough.
I think you will be ok doing it just stay fueled snd hydrated. However if you dont want to do it or feel uncomfortable then don't. The mountains will always be there!

6-8 Week appointment

Hey everyone,

I’ve just had my 6–8 week postnatal appointment after a vaginal birth, and I’m a bit surprised that there wasn’t really any physical check to see how everything had healed.

My appointment seemed to focus mostly on baby, with only a few questions about how I was feeling.

Just wondering what other people’s experiences were and whether this is normal. Thanks 😊

Best outing for a first birthday

I am thinking rather than putting on a gathering party my little one would rather have an adventure, I am posting distances from us as this should be a factor in the poll, and his birthday is in August

Epidural site pain?

Sent a message to my OB about this but wanted some personal insight—’ll be 4 weeks PP this week and am still having some decent soreness where my epidural was placed as well as a chill/cold feeling in that area from time to time. Has anyone else experienced this?

2 under 2 c section healing limited support

I’m about to have a newborn and a 17 month old. I’m having a repeat c section and my husband works 70 hours a week so I’m a lone alllll the time. We have no family support and can’t afford a nanny or help because we live paycheck to paycheck as it is. My question is, does anyone have any tips on how to handle the toddler and newborn while also healing from c section? Eg how will I load and unload the 17 month old into the car seat and put when I’m not even able to lift over 10 lbs for 6 weeks. I’m really getting stressed about the logistics of everything.
